Cempedak Private Island

We stayed in the island for 2 nights 3 days. Landscape is beautiful and service is fantastic. Although the food is predefined (no menu to choose from) the quality is very good. We opted for a villa with an ocean view, which added to our stay. One can have a very minimalistic experience as the ambience aims to help guests to disconnect from technology, etc and to enjoy nature. Highly recommended

Amazing food, service and villas. I really can’t fault this amazing oasis. The villas each have a plunge pool And are like a tree house very big and open. The villas are not fully walled and you can sleep to the sound of the ocean. You are given an iPad to contact the host and request whatever you need. The staff are so friendly and the food is of the highest quality.

The staff are so happy and helpful, they are clearly proud of their island and are determined to make your staff perfect. The villas are spectacular and the food is as good as you could wish for. The variety is fantastic, produce fresh and presented brilliantly. Management is very conscious of the environment and manage the island with as light a touch as possible. Definitely recommend the experience to everyone.

What an amazing place. If you are looking for a place to totally relax and be close to nature then this is the place for you. Staff were excellent - always looking to help and the food was great- a place to explore local food and so nice not to have to choose. Spacious rooms with amazing views and secluded so you feel that you are on the Island on your own. The Spa has an amazing setting and came back totally relaxed- thank you to everyone there

Our 3 nights stay at Cempedak was simply magical and perfect from end to end. The service is beyond exceptional with the whole staff very friendly but not too much, honestly I have never seen it anywhere else that way. The food was excellent all day long likewise the cocktails. The service again impeccable and the location facing the sea for breakfast or dinner was dreamy. The villa is spacious and the private pool really well done with breathtaking views. All natural but high end finition like organic linen, and nice furniture. Activités are plenty and the spa is one of the best I ever had. We had such a quiet and lovely weekend we can’t wait to go back again.

An idyllic way to spend 5 days. This is probably not the 1st review you have read about Cempedak, Every review could not be closer to the truth. From the moment you are carefully driven across Bintan island and whisked off to the exquisite island by speed boat to this magical destination, you will be awestruck. Starting with genuine smiles and greetings the sheer delight of all welcoming team members who will do everything above and beyond their call of duty to make your stay truly memorable. Service is tiptop yet unintrusive. If you enjoy fine dining this is the place to bring your appetite and tastebuds. Creative menus for any palate or dietary needs. All activities are fun for any level of fitness and carefully monitored. Spa is dreamy, thoughtfully positioned in a stunning spot , zero cheesy music, just the sounds of the gentle lapping waves and nature at its finest. Treatments exceptional and tailored to your personal wellbeing. Nothing goes unnoticed by the finely tuned team members. From what I understand there is very low turn over of staff, which makes me believe they are well treated and impeccably trained by the management. We took yoga classes at our villa which is an activity we had never experienced, however I enjoyed very much and hope to follow through if I can source a patient instructor as we had. My husband enjoyed the catamaran sailing with Roy. We both enjoyed the island walk and talk , very informative. Barefoot croquet is bundles of fun and if your as lucky as us.. You will be joined for great games with the team members.. The Dodo bar is not to be missed , very inviting and of course intoxicating! The villas are beautiful. Someone recommended I bring a good book as a very quiet place.. I actually found so much to do.. I didn’t even get to read the cover! Every single team member should be recognized for their fine service . Also we want to give praise to all the backstage workers who we did not have the pleasure to meet that help keep cempedak Island such poetry in motion. Don’t wait, book a perfect getaway now.. you could not make a more perfect choice.

Second visit to Cempedak, the first time 6 years ago, before the island was totally completed. After spending the 2 weeks prior to arriving back I was kayaking in Misool, Raja ampat, so was ready for a rest. We spend two nights in Singapore before we made the journey back, Coldplay concert, city life then Cempedak. The journey across was very stress free 1 hr on the ferry, staff from the island waiting to meet us, quick customs clearance into Indonesia , 45 mins drive.to.the waiting speedboat, 40 mins on the boat ,arrived back in paradise! On our previous visit they where finishing building the three villas to the right of the spa area, villa 19 had a stunning direct sea view , without anyone overlooking us, we asked if we could reserve this villa for our visit, the request was noted..on arrival we where given out dream villa, we where not disappointed! It's towards the rear of the island so 10 mins walk to the bar and restaurant, perfect for us. Our only concern was it wasn't going to be as special as our first trip here, no worries it was even better! The staff have changed, although Kem did greet us on arrival, one of the original staff,, great to see the island completed, new staff made the trip as special as the first visit. Food , service, spa, staff, tennis, paddle board, kayaking, special dinner for two on the beach, wildlife, but no sightings of the sea otters this time..but birds and new arrival, very sweet leaf eating monkey family have swam across to the island to join the Cempedak family. Thanks again to all the staff for making our special honeymoon trip so special. So what's the big Mistake!!? Waiting 6 Years to return to paradise!

Best holiday ever! The villa, the food, the service...the most beautiful experience we ever had! We enjoyed the private pool so much . The fact that we could dip in anytime day and night, it was amazing! Their take on Indonesian food is beyond 5star. We also enjoyed the private bbq dinner by the beach which was carefully orchestrated for a birthday celebration. The free water activities are so fun too.We can't wait to go back again!

Apologies for a long review, I hope it’s worth the read ! A vacation at Cempedak Island starts at collection from the Ferry Terminal in Bintan. It was our second time to pass through and it was, once again, seamless. We met our driver (Don) and enjoyed about a 90 minute drive across the island. Bintan really is a beautiful island and it was great to get to see more of it as we passed by some truly beautiful sights. Don was really nice, drove very carefully and made good conversation, he was also our return driver. Once we arrived at the speedboat area (which would be impossible to find alone!) the boat was already waiting and our two pilots took us on the last leg of travel. The ride was fabulous, the heat of the day was broken nicely once the engines were fully fired up in open water. The ride is short, maybe about 30 minutes, and really refreshing. We passed a wonderful rainbow greeting us to the islands. Arrival at Cempedak Island is as you’ve likely seen on YouTube videos. You’re greeted by the staff and swiftly taken to the pool bar area where all the check-in normalities are handled along with a refreshing drink. Soon after the buggy takes you to the room. THE ROOM We had villa 13 on the sunset side of the island and it was wonderful. All the villas (I believe) are the same/similar, bamboo is the main construction material. Very sustainable and beautiful. Downstairs there is a nice large lounge area with a semicircular sofa, a toilet and through the folding doors a nice deck with loungers, a coffee table and a plunge pool. We had beach access (although the beach was very small and I preferred the plunge pool anyway!). There’s also tea and coffee making facilities on the outside area. Upstairs is the bedroom with a very comfy huge bed with mozzie netting around it (vital!!), a small desk, wardrobes and a bathroom. There are folding doors again opening out to a spectacular view. The sea breeze is beautiful and cooling. I honestly thought (as an Englishman abroad) I’d be uncomfortable without aircon, but it was very nice. Sleeping with all the doors open and listening to the sea and wind (and rain sometimes) was soothing. Both the lounge and the bed have fans. The whole ‘house’ is completely open which adds to the aesthetic and the cooling. If I could sum up the room I’d say this is what Tom Hanks would’ve made on Castaway if he’d had a few power tools, a generator and small team of artisans. POOL BAR We actually only visited here once for New Year celebrations. Not because it was bad, just because i enjoyed the privacy of the plunge pool in the room. The pool is a decent size and the area is very nice. The staff there were very friendly and it’s also where you can arrange a plethora of activities like windsurfing, snorkelling etc. DODO BAR A quaint and welcoming little bar in the tree tops with a beautiful view of the sunset. All the usual drinks, out-door seating and games are available. I enjoyed too many of the loc
