"A very good surprise to end our South Africa tour. Perfectly located 15km away from Durban airport, Capital Zimbali is a huge, modern and beautiful hotel facing the Indian ocean, with lush garden and massive pools. Bedrooms are very spacious and be very comfortable. We were upgraded to a room facing the ocean with balcony. Good choice of restaurant options though both were very smoky due to poor ventilation system. Very helpful and efficient staff."

"Our welcome and check in was very warm and friendly. Our room had fantastic views of the beach and ocean. The bed was very large and comfortable. There is no separate bathroom as such but just a blind to screen it from the bedroom. We ate dinner at the hotel the first night and the food and service was very good. The first morning at breakfast we asked for some toast and they brought us fried bread. When we questioned it we were told that it was toast - the chef even came out and told us it was toast and that they didn’t have a toaster which amazed us. The manager advised us later that they now had a toaster and breakfast the next day would be better, which in fairness to them it was. Service at breakfast was a bit slow and the staff were not as friendly as all of the others."

"Dit is een kleinschalig conplex en heeft iets weg van een B&B. Onze kamer zag er zeer netjes uit en leek net geronoveerd te zijn. Kamer beschikt over een fijn en schoon bed. Wij werden ontvangen door de gastvrouw die een goede uitleg gaf over de zaken die er in de omgeving te doen zijn. Door haar tips hebben wij leuke dagen gehad! Deze informatie ligt ook op de kamer in een boekje. Het ontbijt was goed en uitgebreid. Deze accomodatie is zeker een aanrader als je in Salt Rock verblijft."

"Wij zijn hier gestopt om te lunchen toen we van st. Lucia naar Durban reden om ons vliegtuig te halen. Een mooie restaurant, afwisselende kaart , mooi uitzicht over de zee. Een aanrader om even te stoppen als je moet vliegen. Vanaf hier ben je met 20 minuten op de luchthaven."

"We have been away for 6 weeks travelling the country, and this was the absolute worst hotel we stayed in. It should have been closed while they are doing renovations. Builders and rubble everywhere, one small lift to service guests, cleaners and builders with rubble and buckets. Filthy dirty, badly maintained, the sliding door to the outside open patio did not lock, air-conditioned did not work. Loud pumping music into the night and early in the morning around the pool, where nobody is sitting. They boast three restaurants, of which two of them share the same menu and dreadful kitchen. Absolutely not disabled friendly, surly grumpy staff at the makeshift reception on check-in. A total nightmare. It has put me off Ballito Bay completely. Absolutely horrendous."

Clean Accommodation, a Safe environment, and truly warm hosts make the few days there an absolute pleasure, and we will most definitely return. It's rare to find a hidden gem of a place like this amongst literally hundreds of other spots to choose from in the Ballito and Dolphin Coast region. "
