"Ons weekendverblijf in Vida Aventura Park, in Domo #1, was werkelijk fantastisch. Mijn man en ik hebben van elk moment genoten, van de rustige omgeving midden in de natuur tot de adembenemende wandelingen met panoramische uitzichten op de bergen. Domo #1 had alles wat je nodig hebt: ruimte, een bed, airconditioning, een badkamer en een woonkamer met uitzicht op de zonsondergang. Het klimaat was perfect, ideaal om overdag de omgeving te verkennen en 's avonds te ontspannen. Het eten was vers, smaakvol en prachtig bereid, wat ons verblijf extra bijzonder maakte. Wat de ervaring nog memorabeler maakte, was de warmte en vriendelijkheid van het personeel (Don Jorge, Josue de beheerder, chef-kok Adriana, enz.). Iedereen deed er alles aan om ons welkom en verzorgd te laten voelen. Het was de perfecte mix van comfort, avontuur en rust. We kunnen niet wachten om terug te komen!"

Jardin entre Montañas ★★★

"We stayed December 2024 in the very private Cocoa Cabin. Breakfast was varied each day and was exceptional (hot Chocolate from the cocoa for their yard). It was a nice treat not to have to share any walls with other guests (just the sounds of frogs at night and birds in the morning). At night we could look for frogs in the garden with the owner. The place was very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very warm and we loved learning about Costa Rica culture. Shower is hot water on demand, so you could change the temperature to hot or cooler on the shower dial (based on the season). Small kitchen with the necessary basics was included. They only recommended tours and restaurants they were familiar with and approved. Close to a lovely national park with waterfalls, all sorts of tours are available in this area and better than Monteverde with wildlife abundant (we saw 2 and 3 toed sloths, toucans, frogs in the garden). Wifi connection was consistent. I would go back in a heartbeat."

"The room was full of mosquitoes 🦟, and there was also construction happening right next to our room, which made the stay very uncomfortable. When we asked to change rooms, the staff made it difficult and seemed to want us to stay in the room they had assigned to us. We also mentioned that we were on our honeymoon, but unfortunately, nothing special had been prepared for us. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this hotel!! 🥹"

"My wife and I spent a very enjoyable 3 days here in Feb. 2024. The lodge is beautiful, located within a working ranch and large private natural area. Our room was clean and comfortable. Although it was quite hot and dry, we enjoyed nature activities in the morning and evening, and lounging by the pool in the afternoon. Our favorite activities were birdwatching on our own or with guide Santos Molina. He was excellent - very knowledgeable and attentive to our interests. The birds were awesome! The staff were all competent and helpful. The food was delicious but options were limited. At check-in, I mentioned that I am lactose-intolerant, and they were very careful to not include dairy in my meals. I really appreciated that. We have only a couple suggestions for improvement: 1) have written materials for guests, such as a map, menu and price list for excursions; 2) do a better job of picking up litter."

"My wife, daughters and I had a wonderful stay at Cataratas Bijagua Lodge in March 2024! The breakfasts were excellent and made fresh. Genuine Costa Rican fare. The location was perfect as it is only 5 minutes from Bijagua and there are trails that lead from the cabins deeper into the jungle (a beautiful viewpoint that overlooks the valley, a waterfall, etc). We saw monkeys, coati, and too many birds to count. The hammock and swinging chairs on the cabin porch were perfect for evening relaxation. The accommodations are perfect for those who are looking for basic necessities rather than the overrated creature comforts that bigger resorts offer. Highly recommended!"
