The room we had was perfect for us. The motel itself is probably a bit dated but nonetheless, comfortable, clean and tidy. The rooms are a good size and contain all that is necessary for a long or short stay. I believe there is a pool although we didn't use it. Outside the gate there is a bus stop for your convenience and a Z petrol station right next door. Plenty of eateries in walking distance. If you want a comfortable stay with very good hosts this is the place for you. Thank you so much to our hosts for all they did for us.

We were really happy with the room - it was surprisingly very quiet (even though it's located on an intersection), and was very clean, neat, spacious and modern. The beds were super comfortable - I had the best sleep on the holiday at this hotel! I would stay here again.

We needed accommodation close to the Hospital and it was only 10 minutes walk through Hagley Park so location wise it was great. The had self check in but I could not log in so had to wait until we could find someone, this problem was not theirs as it was the booking agent. As guest have no contact with staff any problems that you find can not be passed on to staff, our unit had a bathroom heater that didn't work. There were a few issues that may cause problems, the bed seems to be on wheels and rolled around the room if you sat up against the wall and the shower rose was about chest height. Overall the place was acceptable.

It was absolutely fine-no issue with the room or amenties or check-in. The lady at reception, who may well have been the owner, could not have been more helpful with advice. She also ran us down to the station in the morning. If you need a hotel near the station, this is a great choice.

We arrived at the hotel around 5pm - busy time on the road, and it is a pretty busy road (though quieted down after rush hour). The hotel is in a residential area,not too far from the Arena, but not any shops/restaurants right nearby. One could walk to these places - about 20 minutes away, but I wouldn't be that keen at night even though the owner said the area was very safe. The owner got us quickly checked in. She didn't offer any milk or give us the wifi like all the other motels we've ever stayed in, but otherwise she was friendly and efficient. Our room (#10) was upstairs, about halfway back. I was a bit worried about the noise (i'm a super light sleeper), but once we were in the room it was quiet. The space is small (we had a queen bed 1bdroom?) and a bit weirdly laid out, but very clean - which was really the most important thing. There was a closet with iron/board/ extra pillows and blankets which is always great, and a tiny fridge for snacks. The bed was clean and comfy, nice and dark too with the curtains closed and door shut. The bathroom was tidy, nice to have small shampoo/conditioner, and the water pressure was spot on. We couldn't find any details in the book about wifi, we ended up going to the office and getting it as I tried calling from the room and it just kept ringing out. Don't know the issue - she was in the office. She said there was a 'white paper with the wifi code written on it' in the room - finally found it in the bedroom. Overall a good, quick 1 night stay.

We needed accommodation close to the Hospital and it was only 10 minutes walk through Hagley Park so location wise it was great. The had self check in but I could not log in so had to wait until we could find someone, this problem was not theirs as it was the booking agent. As guest have no contact with staff any problems that you find can not be passed on to staff, our unit had a bathroom heater that didn't work. There were a few issues that may cause problems, the bed seems to be on wheels and rolled around the room if you sat up against the wall and the shower rose was about chest height. Overall the place was acceptable.

We chose this motel due to it's convenience to the train station, as we were on the TranzAlpine early the next morning and had no car. It was an easy 15-20 minute walk to the station. We were really happy with the room - it was surprisingly very quiet (even though it's located on an intersection), and was very clean, neat, spacious and modern. The beds were super comfortable - I had the best sleep on the holiday at this hotel! I would stay here again.

This is the second time we stayed here. We found the experience very relaxing and the hosts extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to please us and succeeded in doing so. The room we had was perfect for us. The motel itself is probably a bit dated but nonetheless, comfortable, clean and tidy. The rooms are a good size and contain all that is necessary for a long or short stay. I believe there is a pool although we didn't use it. Outside the gate there is a bus stop for your convenience and a Z petrol station right next door. Plenty of eateries in walking distance. If you want a comfortable stay with very good hosts this is the place for you. Thank you so much to our hosts for all they did for us.

We enjoyed our stay . We found the service very friendly and accommodating. The facility is very clean . The units have air conditioning. This motel is situated close to most facilities. We will be back to stay here . We did the Tranz Alpine train while in Christchurch. The motel staff took us to the railway station and picked us up after the train trip . Great value here ! Wifi is slow !

The hostel is a highlight of this city because it is converted from an old prison. The prison style is a bit depressing, especially because it is located in a tiny street where there is nothing ... a bit like at the end of the world. It's nice to sleep one night but probably not longer. Well, but everyone likes other attractions and generally the hostel is not bad.

A very clean and tidy unit that is well appointed with semi kitchen. Sky channels include movies and sky sport so big plus here. The rate was $98 per night which is very cheap for Christchurch. This is not my first stay at Econolodge and I am happy to stay again. Although the decor is aged, it is remarkably clean and tidy. I checked in late, and checked out early so they left the key out for me. Free wifi
