We zouden heel blij terugkomen en zou het B&B van Joyce oprecht aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een mooie plek om te blijven en een echte speciale ervaring. "Hidden Gem. I don't like to use the phrase but it works here. In my ignorance I'd not heard of Douneside but what a fantastic hotel. So happy with our stay. Lovely building, magnificent gardens, very nice bar, great selection of wines and whiskies, wonderful menu of beautiful food, great colleagues working with hotel guests - so helpful. At one apparently high end NE hotel we arrived and asked for a scone - nope. So poor. Whereas here at Douneside we had complimentary scones with jam and cream and tea. Fantastic. Can't fault the hotel. Many thanks."

"Andrew was very accommodating and friendly, upgraded us to a superior room and did a discount on the breakfast. We asked if we could swap to the twin room rather than the double bed after one night and it was no problems. The hotel is in a good location for activities such as cycling and hiking. Hotel is nice and clean, good breakfast."

"It's a bit rough and ready but welcome was genuine and warm. It is a budget hotel and the sheets were clean and bed were very comfortable and that alone was worth the money. There is a lack of budget hotels or b&bs in the area its mainly higher end. Which when you are volunteering (and funding yourself) at a sporting event, is all you need. It suited to stay in Alford and for that reason I would stay there again and most likely will next year. "
