Hostels in County Dublin, Ireland

"The hostel is a little bit disappointing, if I’m honest. Pros: -very clean bathrooms -amazing hot shower -location -free locker (deposit required) -keyless -free coffee pods and water The biggest downside is the sleeping pods. They are incredibly squeaky and flimsy, every more you make makes a ton of sound. What does not help is the fact the rooms are pretty much empty apart from the pods, so there is virtually zero sound dampening. I kid you not, but laying in the pod I could hear stomach rumbling of the person in a pod above me. It was very weird and awkward. If you or someone is snoring/coughing- you’re done. The nights were not very sleepless. Additionally, no charging ports worked in my pod and I had to use the kitchen Other cons: -towels and sheets are cleaned, but they are overused. Although washed, they have old stains and are generally worn out If you’re looking for a social hostel - this is not it. There aren’t any common areas (apart from small backyard and kitchen, which are always empty) and the hostel does not facilitate any activities If only the pods were a bit more convenient and a tiny bit more soundproof, it would be much better, but this issue really outweighed lots of positives for me"

"Een wat kleine maar schone kamer. We hadden een 2 persoonskamer met eigen badkamer. Op de kamer zijn voldoende stopcontacten aanwezig en ook kun je de shampoo + condition en douche gel thuis laten. De ligging is fantastisch op loopafstand van het centrum en met een tramhalte bijna voor de deur. Tip: koop een Leafcard daarmee kun je makkelijk en goedkoop reizen in Dublin. Wat ik en andere die ik sprak minder vinden is de muziek die te hard staat bij binnenkomst."

"It was a good stay. I'm looking forward for future stays. It is comfortable. And clean and suitable for busy travelers and workers. The pods have blue lights for sleep in addition to the white light. Lockers have their own locks . very professional and friendly and respectable staff . The bar is beautiful and they have music nights and gigs sometimes. The location is great and is right next to everything. I was able to show up to work within 5 minutes of leaving. They serve food and drinks. Didn't see any public computers for use. Overall exceeded my expectations"

"Ahhh, je moet van tevoren regelen en boeken. Het is echt duur om op het laatste moment te boeken. De omgeving is prima. De begane grond is een gemeenschappelijke ruimte met een keuken die je kunt gebruiken. Je kunt je eigen koffie zetten. Er is ook een grote opslagruimte op de begane grond (gratis, maar we zijn niet verantwoordelijk voor verloren spullen) en een betaalde opslagruimte, vergelijkbaar met een pakketkluis. De kamer heeft een eigen badkamer, wat prima is. Badhanddoeken kunnen gehuurd worden voor één dollar per stuk, maar ik heb geen slippers gezien. De locatie is erg handig en je kunt bezienswaardigheden en supermarkten in de buurt bezoeken. De receptie was erg vriendelijk, haha."

"Generator Hostel Dublin presenteert een fantastische locatie, wat ongetwijfeld het grootste verkoopargument is. Gelegen in het hart van de stad, is het een ideaal startpunt voor iedereen die alles wil ontdekken wat Dublin te bieden heeft. Het gemak van het hebben van veel populaire attracties op loopafstand is een groot pluspunt voor toeristen. Tijdens mijn verblijf merkte ik echter dat het hostel wat onderhoud en upgrades nodig heeft. De faciliteiten, hoewel functioneel, leken een beetje versleten en hadden een opfrisbeurt nodig. Sommige ruimtes leken gedateerd, en een beetje een facelift zou de algehele sfeer van de plek zeker verbeteren. Ondanks deze onderhoudsproblemen heeft Generator Hostel Dublin nog steeds zijn voordelen, vooral als je een beperkt budget hebt. Alleen al vanwege de locatie is het een haalbare keuze, en als u enkele onderhoudsproblemen over het hoofd kunt zien, vindt u een redelijk geprijsde optie voor uw verblijf in het hart van Dublin."

"I really enjoyed my stay. The pub is great in the common area. Amazing price for the pint. The people were also great, they made us feel very welcomed. The only thing to be aware is that some of the rooms have little space between the beds. So it can become a bit claustrophobic if you want to move around a lot. But I only used for sleeping so it didn't bother me."

"Really helpful and understandable staff. Gave me a hand with the heavy luggage upstairs. Though the Trip booking made a mistake, the staff gave me a well welcome, especially in the late night arriving. By the way, the shelf by the bunk do need to be cleaned since it was with lots of dust."
