The Hotel Location is easy to access and lots of good food & salon amenities around it. Likewise, the Hotel Room is clean and tidy. The Customer Service is friendly & courteous. Also, I would like to compliment their Technician Staff having good fast response who came to repair our Card Slot System immediately when we notified them that our room has no more power supply due to the faulty card slot system. Keep up thwbGood Work!

Hotel is wearing down fast. I have stayed quite a few times and surprised how fast it’s wearing down. They don’t provide hand soap at wash basin. I needed to call guest services and it took them half an hour to bring me 2 small bars of soap. Did they expect me to bring my own soap to wash my hands or use the soap in the shower - I am a little confused. Anyway location is still great and the new huge store Mr DIY is great. Also the anchor butter at breakfast tasted like margarine but on closer examination it is butter.

5-Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely impeccable stay! This place is super brand new, spotless, and unbelievably classy from the moment you walk in. Huge space with a big balcony overlooking the awesome sea view! It made us all smile waking up to it! The home is simple yet beautiful and immaculately clean down to every detail. The toilet? Super classy and hotel-level luxe. In fact, one of our kids said, It’s like a classy hotel in a homestay!” and they were 100% right! If you want space, style, and that five-star feel without the hotel price tag, BOOK THIS NOW! My family and I can’t wait to return and will definitely book this again, and check out all their 3- 4 bedrooms units! Definitely a gem! Don’t miss it!

De locatie is fantastisch en het uitzicht vanaf onze accommodatie is adembenemend. We waren ook aangenaam verrast door de geweldige service van receptioniste Hazirah bij het inchecken. Bedankt Azira! 😘 Ik kon geen volle punten geven voor de netheid, omdat er een slipje in de badkamer lag, waarschijnlijk van de vorige gasten. Anders zou het een 10/10 zijn geweest voor dit verblijf.

Mixed Experience – Good Service Recovery but Initial Handling Could Be Better I recently stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre and had a mixed experience. For the first two nights, we suspected the room was not properly cleaned as both my husband and I experienced continuous sneezing throughout the stay. I reported this to the front desk after the first night, but no action was taken or escalated. Unfortunately, we had to endure a second uncomfortable night before I raised the issue again to the duty manager. I must commend the duty manager for her prompt and decisive action — she arranged an immediate room change, which made a significant difference. This level of service recovery was appreciated. However, it is unclear why the initial concern was not escalated earlier by the front desk, which could have prevented unnecessary discomfort. On a positive note, when I fell sick during the stay, the front desk staff were thoughtful enough to send porridge and warm water to my room — a kind gesture that I truly appreciated. The hotel’s location is very convenient, and the breakfast selection varies daily, which is a plus. A special mention to the egg station staff — they were consistently friendly and attentive, handling every request with a smile even during busy periods. Check-out was smooth and efficient. Overall, while there were some lapses in initial handling, the service recovery and certain staff members’ efforts stood out.

Deze keer verbleef ik in het Opero Hotel Southkey in Johor Bahru en was over het algemeen zeer tevreden. Het is een hotel met een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. 📍 De locatie is echt superhandig: Het hotel ligt direct naast het Mid Valley Southkey winkelcentrum, op slechts een paar minuten lopen. Je hoeft je geen zorgen te maken over eten, winkelen of boodschappen doen, wat erg prettig is voor korte uitstapjes of een weekendje weg. 🛏️ Kamerervaring: De kamer was schoon, modern en minimalistisch ingericht. Het bed sliep heerlijk en de geluidsisolatie was goed, dus 's nachts was het erg rustig. De waterdruk in de badkamer was stabiel en er was voldoende warm water. Alles was goed onderhouden en voelde niet aan als een oud hotel. 🍽️ Voorzieningen top: * Enorme keuze in het winkelcentrum (restaurants, cafés, supermarkten, massages, make-up, alles is er) * 's Avonds is het gemakkelijk om een late snack, koffie of dagelijkse benodigdheden te halen. * Je hoeft niet speciaal een taxi naar het stadscentrum te nemen om je te vermaken. 🚗 Vervoer en bereikbaarheid: * Vanuit Singapore kun je na de CIQ-douane direct een Grab nemen. * Het hotel heeft parkeerplaatsen, dus ook handig als je met de auto komt. * Een taxi naar het stadscentrum, KSL of City Square is ook niet ver. 💬 Service: De receptie was vriendelijk en het in- en uitchecken verliep vlekkeloos. Vragen werden snel beantwoord, wat een geruststellend gevoel gaf. ✨ Samenvattend: Als je een schoon, rustig hotel zoekt met een superhandige locatie vlak bij een winkelcentrum in Johor Bahru, dan is Opero Hotel Southkey echt een aanrader. Het ontbijt was heerlijk. Het is geschikt voor koppels, vrienden en korte weekendverblijven. De volgende keer dat ik in Johor Bahru ben, zal ik hier zeker weer verblijven! 👍

We waren blij dat we ons welkom voelden bij aankomst in het hotel. Ons uitzicht vanuit de kamer was goed en we hebben 's avonds laat nog van het vuurwerk kunnen genieten vanuit ons raam. Er ontbraken handdoeken en er was geen extra handdoekmat om te gebruiken na het douchen, omdat de vloer nat was. Het zou fijn zijn geweest als we een welkomstcocktail op de kamer hadden gekregen. Het personeel bij de receptie had weinig contact met de gasten tijdens het inchecken. Beide medewerkers waren niet erg behulpzaam en leken te veel gefocust op administratie en financiën. Tijdens een praatje vertellen gasten meestal waarom ze voor dit hotel hebben gekozen. Deze vraag werd ons gesteld door de mannelijke valet bij het uitchecken. Een online aanvraag zou de reden voor de boeking van dit hotel kunnen aangeven. Ik had dit hotel samen met mijn man gereserveerd ter gelegenheid van ons 35-jarig huwelijksjubileum. Dank u wel. Ik hoop dat het hotel mijn suggestie over de extra service in overweging zal nemen, aangezien de hotelbranche een concurrerende markt is.

Recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Comfortable room, comfortable bathroom, everything clean. The best part is the TV has Netflix, even though you have to log in with your own account. Enjoyed watching while lying down. Staff, from reception to cleaners, are all friendly. There's a lift, so no worries if you have elderly parents. Can bring a wheelchair. Parking is also spacious. Can repeat next time 😄

Het hotel is onlangs gerenoveerd en geopend in 2023 en het algehele ontwerp is modern en eenvoudig. Het servicepersoneel is aardig en vriendelijk. De ontbijtoptie is een beetje klein en het aantal beschikbare liften (slechts 3) is niet voldoende, wat elke keer weer tot lang wachten leidt. Het ligt naast het paradigma-winkelcentrum, maar er is geen bewegwijzering naar het hotel in het winkelcentrum, dus houd er rekening mee. Het hotel heeft een klein zwembad en een fitnessruimte op de receptie. Algehele verblijf is nog steeds aangenaam, alleen de locatie van het hotel is ver van de CIQ.

Convenient location to go eateries and short distance walk to KSL. Plenty of parking space and quiet environment. Located at level 56 and a good view of the neighbourhood. The unit comes with a water purifier/dispenser, so there is no need to buy drinking water when staying there. It also provides a washing machine at the service yard but you will need to bring your own washing powder/detergent. Bring a pair of slippers/hotel slippers along if plan to go service yard for the washing. Feels grainy for the floor in some areas, would be good to have a mop in the unit. Do note that there is no Netflix but you can watch local free channels. Before we check in, we were informed in the morning that there is a fibre maintenance by the building management and the free wifi for the unit ended with no internet connection during the stay. Hopefully the internet service has resumed after the public holiday. 4G & 5G signal for my Hotlink mobile service was intermittently slow when staying in the unit and disconnected at times. Generally, it is a nice unit for family and friends to stay.
