Despite the language barrier, he went above and beyond by communicating with us through a translator. He shared recommendations for local attractions, helped us order food, and even drove us to several locations around Zhangjiajie. For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights. This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced. 📍Location: 50 meters from the East Gate, 7-seater shuttle service provided The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. Manxin was the third boutique hotel I chose for my trip to Hunan. It's located in a village nestled in the mountains. The owner leased nearly a hundred acres of land to create the idyllic farm he envisioned. Several two-story buildings are artfully scattered amidst rice paddies and lotus ponds. An infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the distant mountains. The rice seedlings have just been planted, and in a few months, one can truly experience the scene described by Xin Qiji: 'A bountiful harvest is spoken of amidst the fragrance of rice flowers, as the croaking of frogs fills the air.' **Environment:** The hotel's environment is exceptional. Surrounded by distant mountains, perched on a gentle slope, every room offers expansive views of lush greenery. The rice fields are close by, and at night, the sound of frogs fills the air. Each room boasts a large balcony. Sitting there, breathing in the fresh mountain air, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, time seems to slow down. **Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is top-notch. Despite being surrounded by farmland, there are surprisingly no mosquitoes or other insects in the rooms, which is quite rare. **Facilities:** As a meticulously crafted guesthouse, it offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel, especially the infinity pool with its unbeatable mountain views – truly an inspired touch. Of course, as a 'wild luxury' (my own definition) hotel, to encourage guests to truly reconnect with nature, the rooms intentionally lack televisions. This thoughtful decision is commendable! **Service:** Being far from the city, service is particularly important for guests. The hotel provides dedicated butlers who promptly address guests' questions and requests. Their efficiency is high, usually responding to guests almost immediately. The hotel offers complimentary airport/train station transfers, as well as unlimited complimentary transfers to the Zimu Pass (middle gate) of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is incredibly helpful for guests. **In summary:** This is a uniquely positioned hotel. For travelers who love nature, appreciate peace and a slower pace, and have high standards for hotel quality, this hotel is definitely worth a short stay. **Final Suggestion:** Given its rural location, its own farmland, and the fact that it raises poultry and bees, the hotel should further leverage its unique advantages in terms of ingredients and cuisine. It could also appropriately guide local farmers to cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, and various eco-friendly produce, making a beneficial contribution to rural revitalization. I believe some guests would appreciate this.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel, and the organization and service were simply unbeatable. From the very beginning, everything was taken care of perfectly. We were picked up from the train station by a private driver, and the hotel supported us extensively with planning our route through Zhangjiajie National Park. They arranged all the tickets and transfers for us, which made the whole experience incredibly easy and stress-free. When we wanted to visit Tianmen Mountain National Park for a day, the hotel once again recommended the best route for us and took care of booking the tickets. All of the reception staff spoke really good English, which made communication very easy throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, and there were always new little places to discover around the property. It is a particularly peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Our room was very spacious and had everything we could have wished for. The only small downside was that the mountain view was somewhat limited by the bamboo privacy screen. The breakfast was also excellent, with a great variety of options to suit every taste, ranging from classic Chinese dishes to Western breakfast favorites. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would happily come back again. Highly recommended!

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

Cool property! It’s an old building, so insulation is not existing, so keeping the climate nice it’s a bit of a balance. But the stay is absolutely unique and the location could not be better. Yes, you don’t have a direct view on the waterfall, but you don’t need that when you are in this town. You get it from all the restaurants and from the walking around. The view from this hotel is also absolutely fantastic, to the bridge and to the village. The rooms are spacious and the staff is very nice. We will come back.

We selected this hotel because of the good reviews and the roof terrace and it did not disappoint. Fantastic 3-night stay, friendly staff, excellent location and quiet. Room was great - comfortable with all amenities. We would particularly like to thank John (Wong) and all his team/staff for the brilliant attention and service, arranging for park tickets, logistics and picking us up from the railway station. We were able to chat with them via WeChat at all times and they responded very quickly with advice and information. After each long day of park visits, we spent the evenings up in the rooftop terrace accompanied by the beautiful cats and wonderful night-time views of the surrounding mountains. If we ever return to Zhangjiajie, we will definitely book a room at this hotel again.

The hotel is clean and the service is great; they respond promptly to any requests. It's located in a small park in the city, making it very quiet and offering excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family visiting Zhangjiajie. They can also help you purchase discounted tickets, just remember to contact the hotel in advance to arrange it.

The best hotel we had on a 30 days trip through China starting in Chongquing to Shenzhen. This was THE ONLY staff speaking English fluently. Especially the super friendly girl doing the reception. She is the soul of this hotel. She managed everything people needed and was always smiling and really cute. The room are huge, the bathroom as well. It’s excellent clean and super cozy. They offer 2 washing machines, 2 tumble dryers and laundry detergent for free 👏👏 great. Best breakfast we ever had in China for both Chinese and foreign guest. Definitely world class premises- the only one in 30 days roadtrip. Free parking spaces and a very well equipped supermarket right in from the reception 👌 only negative thing is the woman sitting right in front of the hotel, screaming 10 times „hello“ at the guest and trying to sell her raw pumpkins. Not once, not twice- but everytime a guest shows up. I mean-what should a hotel guest do with a raw pumpkin??? I won’t start a barbecue in my room 🤦🏼♀️ she is extremely stupid and extremely annoying. If the hotel could manage to remove her from that place, that would be nothing negative to mention. Thank you guys for making our stay really remarkable. 🙏🏻❤️

Ctrip reviews did not disappoint! I found this hotel based on the excellent reviews, and its location is fantastic, right at the entrance of Hongqiao Gate, making travel incredibly convenient. There's a direct shuttle bus to the high-speed train station right outside (7 yuan per person; ride-sharing services here have a very low acceptance rate). Since there were three of us, they upgraded us to a triple room. The room was spacious and had an 'Xiaodu' smart speaker. The service was excellent; all our requests were handled immediately. During peak season, I'm sure it gets very busy, and the breakfast selection is quite diverse.
