After dredging, docks were built on the west side of the island, and Chinese naval guards were stationed on the island. Buffalo herd on the East Island: It was in the 40 years around 1659 (late Ming and early Qing) that exiles fled from the sea and brought into the East Island. Administratively, it is under the jurisdiction of Sansha City, Hainan Province, China.
