A true historical landmark. It is a very different and overwhelming feeling to stand at this site and imagine and visualise history! Romans were ahead of their time and it shows in these excavation...

Poor interpretation
Though this ancient monument is on private property their interpretation was poor and faded. The entrance price of £3 per head is modest but don't expect much more than a view of the excavations!

We came when the theatre was being set up for a festival, so it wasn’t possible to go down amidst the ruins, so you walk around the perimeter which has three or four information boards and that’s your...

Wonderful historical setting for today's events
On the first night of our trip to St. Albans, we went to see Oscar Wilde's play "The Importance of Being Ernest." Loved it! Great acting, great music, and--most importantly--great historical setting.
