Munich's medieval castles have now been destroyed, but its three gates have been fortunately preserved. One of them is the Eastern Isar Gate. It is the only one that still retains the main tower. The wing towers on both sides and the courtyard in the middle are also well preserved. The mural of the gate is a bright spot, depicting the triumphant return of the emperor Ludwig in the battle of 1322. In addition, a reversed clock can be seen on the west side of the gate. The pointer and the face of the clock are reversed. It is used to commemorate Munich's most famous comedian Karl Valentine. The tower of the gate also has a comedy museum to visit.
It's the only medieval wall in Munich that retains the main tower. The medieval castle has been destroyed, but its three gates have been luckily preserved. Every time I ride to the Malia Square in downtown Munich, I pass through Isarmen. It feels very attractive.
Isalmen Square is located in the east of Munich's old city, the gate to the east of the medieval city wall, named for its proximity to the Isar River. Isar Gate is one of the three well-preserved medieval gates (Isar Gate in the east, Sendering Gate in the South and Carmen in the west). Established in 1337, the Isar Gate is the only medieval gate in Munich that retains the main tower bell tower for its Gothic architectural style. Isalmen today has a Museum of Humor in memory of comedian Carl Valentine and a cafe for tourists.
De beelden van de beelden zijn prachtig en interessant.
Isar Gate is an ancient city gate on one side of Munich's old city. After repairing and renovating, it feels very literary and artistic. There is a beautiful clock on the tower of the city gate. It's a small square now, and there's a cafe downstairs. It's a good place to sit and rest.
