Shibata Jinja (Shrine)

Nice shrine

A nice Shinto shrine, part of Shibata castle ruins. It is a working shrine so has omamori (charms) and fortunes on sale.

Shrine

Has some English interpretations of the local area and history which are useful. Otherwise a shrine to spend a few minutes exploring.

In Kitanosho Castle Park

The shrine in Kitanosho Castle Park, a 5~10 minute walk from Fukui station. A small but interesting park and shrine, with many statues and old parts of the castle walls on display.

福井駅の近くなので、行ってみる価値はあると思います。

ご存知お市の方の最後の地です。 娘の3 姉妹の銅像もあります。 神社は小さいですが、福井駅の近くなので福井に行ったら、ぜひ尋ねてみると良いと思います。

夫婦円満

秀吉に敗れた柴田勝家と妻のお市が自害し、炎に包まれた北ノ庄城の天守があったとされる場所に鎮座しています。 小ぢんまりとした境内には、勝家、お市、そして落城寸前に城外に逃れ秀吉に託された三姉妹の銅像が建立されています。 勝家とお市の結婚生活は僅か7ヶ月という短さでしたが、固い絆で結ばれた二人にちなんで、夫婦円満にご利益があると信仰されています。
