Track flooding and bridge damage disrupts routes between Liskeard and Looe

      
      $13 jan tot 23 jan
      Periode:dinsdag 13 januari 2026 tot vrijdag 23 januari 2026
      Operators:Great Western Railway
Gerelateerde informatie:The line between Liskeard and Looe remains closed following a period of recent heavy rain which flooded the track. The water levels have now dropped and Network Rail have been able to inspect the bridge structures. The results of the investigation have confirmed some damage that will require repair work. This will need to be carried out before the line can be reopened and trains are able to run again. No trains will operate between Liskeard and Looe until at least the end of the day Friday 23 January. Rail replacement transport will run as stated below. Please note, there is no Sunday service on this route. Customer advice: Replacement minibuses will operate at train departure times from Liskeard and Looe. The designated stops for the replacement road transport are as follows: Liskeard - at the front of the station. Sandplace - bus stops by the station entrance. Looe - at the front of the station. If you are travelling to / from Coombe Junction Halt, St Keyne Wishing Well Halt or Causeland please call Great Western Railway customer services on 0345 700 0125, or use the station help point for taxis to be arranged. Additionally, you may use your ticket on Transport for Cornwall bus route 73 between Liskeard and Looe at no extra cost. Additional information: Once the water levels drop again, repair work will be able to begin, and we should then be able to give a more accurate date for the line reopening. Currently we do not expect to run trains until Friday 23 January at the earliest.

Storm Goretti disrupts routes between Par and Newquay

      
      $14 jan tot 14 jan
      Periode:woensdag 14 januari 2026 tot woensdag 14 januari 2026
      Operators:Great Western Railway
Gerelateerde informatie:Following severe weather brought by Storm Goretti, the line between Par and Newquay remains closed. Services between these stations are unable to run and have been cancelled. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Customer advice: Rail replacement coaches will operate between St Austell and Newquay. These will operate to mirror the train service, but may suffer from delays due to the additional running time taken on road. You may use your ticket, at no extra cost on Transport for Cornwall routes 21 and 21A between St Austell (station), St Columb Road (Co-op), Quintrell Downs (Quintrell Close) and Newquay (bus station). You will be able to use any tickets from Thursday 8 January at no additional cost on Great Western Railway services up to and including today, Tuesday 13 January. Alternatively, if you are unable to travel, you can claim a free refund for your tickets. Additional information: Storm Goretti hit the UK which brought strong winds to South West England. This has damaged signalling systems and resulted in a number of fallen trees.
