Really loved our visit to Zhangjiajie national park! The tickets required passport and facial recognition at the very start, and from there onwards it only needed facial recognition only which was convenient. We were lucky to have great weather. We were limited to just being able to spend one day here, so purchased the Bailong elevator (going up), and Tianzi mountain cableway (going down) tickets separately, instead of the all inclusive 4day pass. The park was huge and there were lots of local and overseas tourists, even early morning, and it got even busier by 10-11am. Would recommend entering as soon as the park opens. We explored YuanJiaJie first for the iconic avatar mountains, and then did various walks at YangJieJie (had much less people/more peaceful, but some walks were more strenuous), finishing at Tianzi mountain. The cable car down from here before sunset is beautiful and definitely recommend finishing off the day off this way.
