Schloss Basthorst

2nd time in this a bit remote hotel. All rooms are really nice, even the standard ones. We stayed in the Wald residenz, the main building. Rooms are spacious, have all amenities, I would only have wished for curtains that keep the light out. Good breakfast buffet, a bit pricey but no alternatives in the neighborhood. For dinner, good number of options, including a 3 course set menu. reasonable winelist too. Large spa area, indoor and outdoor, heated pool indoor. Staff, especially in the restaurant, very nice. Although we really like our stay, a few tips: as the hotel is remote, would be nice to be able to buy some snacks during the day. Only option is really the official menu. Chips, nuts, chocolate, softdrinks, icecream etc. In the spa area also only a small selection of food and drinks. Easy to improve. Anyway, really nice stay, can recommend it.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The ambiance was extremely welcoming, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, which made my stay very pleasant. One small criticism would be the lack of room service, which could have made the stay more convenient. It was also disappointing that we were only provided with one large bed instead of two separate beds, despite informing the hotel in advance that I was traveling with my mother. One suggestion for improvement would be to provide a minibar or at least a small fridge in the room. This addition would make the stay even more pleasant and further increase guest satisfaction. Overall, however, it was a very positive experience, and I look forward to coming back!

Don't get me wrong, this hotel is absolutely beautiful. Whoever designed it deserves lots of praise. It's so beautiful that you wouldn't think that someone could ruin it, but somehow they managed to find that person. The management runs the place like it's some sort of pay-by-the hour hotel, treating you like you're a potential criminal and charging you for towels. I don't think I've had to pay for a towel since my backpacking days many years ago. Even hostels have stopped charging for towels. We extended for a 3rd night (we hadn't yet had to deal with many of the staff at this point) so I requested a new set of towels for myself and my family and they wanted 20 Euros! For 4 bath towels and two hand towels! And keep in mind, their towels and incredibly thin. I can't think of a hotel or even a hostel that I've stayed at where they provided their guests with such flimsy towels. I'm sure that they buy these towels in bulk and probably cost about 1 Euro each, yet they wanted 20 Euros for me to borrow them. This after spending 600 Euros on the room, 300 Euros at their restaurant for dinner and 37 euros to use their pool. (Yes, they even charge you to use their pool). Then on our last morning there, we decided to try their buffet breakfast, which wasn't cheap, which is fine, but every single time that I went to get a plate of food or a glass of orange juice an employee would chase me down to see if I really belonged there. I mean, do they really have a problem with Americans driving 30 km from the nearest city to the very end of a road in the middle of nowhere at 9 am to try to sneak a free breakfast? So, I'm not saying to not stay here. I'll even stay here again the next time we're visiting our relatives (if they let me after writing this review). It is very clean and very charming. I just think that management should visit some other hotels to see how they operate. But next time I'll bring my own nice fluffy towels.

ZIMMER BETT/ MATRATZE STRAMM UND PLASTIK BEZUG/ DECKE. TV 11 PROGRAMME! USW …. DANN KOMMEN DILETTANTE ANTWORTEN AUF ANDERE PORTALE DIE NICHT DER WAHRHEIT ENTSPRECHEN! VORSICHT!

Wunderschöne, historische Atmosphäre. Freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Sehr schöner Spa und Wellnessbereich. Ausgezeichnetes Essenim Restaurant. Tolle Bar im Alten Schloss. Junior Suite im Alte Gebäude ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Wunderbares Wochenende dank eines aufmerksamen unaufdränglichen Service nahezu perfektes Frühstück und guter Küche, BArtender war kompentent Spa im guten Zustand, kleinere Abplatzungen an Obeflächen schaden leider dem fast perfektem Eindruck
