The Mariner Resort Cape Cod by the Red Collection

My family recently cut our Cape Cod summer vacation short due to the horrific room quality we experienced at The Mariner. When entering our room the pungent and overwhelming smell of mold and likely moisture damage was shocking. As we evaluated our accommodations, we quickly discovered that both the bathroom door and the sliding screen door were damaged and inoperable. Closer inspection also revealed mold on the ceiling above the air conditioner. To further our dismay, there was a cigarette burn through the comforter and the carpet was threadbare at entrance. Needless to say, we cut our stay short and the desk attendant never inquired as to why. I NEVER write reviews but I hope this helps someone else avoid a similar experience.

If I can give one star, I will, So dirty . insects everywhere in the rooms and lobby, Breakfast is horrible, Only 6 tables always dirty nobody clean the tables, nobody fill the missing things, You received email to confirm your reservation and has the amount you will pay, Surprise they will charge you different amount in the check in , so bad experience in this place

The rooms were dirty, in many places the carpet was sticky like chewing gum got into it. There were hairs in the shower from previous guests. The whole place looks rundown. The service is very unattentive, looks bored and reacts unnerved if you ask them something. The breakfast is without service and there was not enough seating capacity for everyone. The price for the stay does not match at all the overall experience.

For a very low cost motel (with an indoor pool and free breakfast), this place was a home run. Our double queen pool view room was very clean. The bedspread appeared to be new, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom could've used a good wall scrubbing, but other than that it was fine. The TV and heat/ac were in good working order and gave us no trouble. The pool/hot tub.......The pool itself was great, lots of people, but everyone was having fun and being respectful. I didn't even look at the hot tub, it was out of order, and give the reviews, I would've avoided it anyway. Pool towels were more like old dish towels, but they did the trick as long as you doubled up. The breakfast....That was my least favorite part of the motel, but again, it served it's purpose. It was all carbs (except for some Yoplait yogurt). Lots of dry cereal, toast, individually packaged muffins, bagels and oatmeal. There was also a make your own waffle station, which seemed to be the most popular item. Juice and coffee were supplied, and there were a few bananas and apples, which we missed out on, due to other people loading up multiple plates to bring to their room after they'd already eaten. My 5 star rating does NOT mean its a 5 star motel, it absolutely is NOT. But, for the price, it exceeded my expectations, and was a fun way to spend a rainy family weekend with an active 8 year old who loves to swim.

Nice hotel and good service for the price and location. Refrigerator smelled musty but room and bathroom was clean. (Room did have fairly strong cleaning products smell). Pools were large and nice to have an hot tub. All in all I would stay here again.

Beginning at the front desk with Emily, we had a great stay! The cleaning personal also were kind and efficient. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Loved the make your own waffle, eggs sandwiches with sausage and plain eggs added needed protein.. Great stay!

We chose the Mariner Resort for our stay in Cape Cod because it was centrally located and a better price than many of the surrounding hotels. I was pleasantly surprised that despite the lower price, the hotel was very clean, very well maintained and very pretty. They are undergoing a lot of renovations outside so I am sure it will be even better in the near future. This hotel had everything our family needed for a comfortable stay, including clean and well maintained rooms, friendly staff, breakfast and an indoor and outdoor pool. I would recommend this hotel for other families.

This was the first time we had stayed here in years! We had always gone to our time share that we recently gave up! My wife and I were treated like family! The entire staff were very friendly and accommodating! I will not hesitate to recommend Mariner Resort to my family and friends! Keep up the Good Work Respectfully, John

No elevator for second floor guests; outdoor pool under construction, rooms were dirty, electrical outages, hotel employees were accommodating; however, this does not makeup for terrible hotel amenities. Front door rug caused people to slip and fall. Would highly recommend not staying at this hotel. Hotel needs a lot of upgrades, maintenance to meet hotel standards. Worst hotel our group has ever stayed at during our Cape Cod visit.
