Hotel Sol de Jávea

Lovely hotel. Clean modern and all communal areas smell lovely. Pool looked great, but to cold at this time of year Check in was fast and easy and staff spoke good English and were lovely. Our room was pretty much as the photos showed. We didn't have the turquoise coloured accessories and the photos make the room appear much bigger than they actually are. However bed was comfy and very big and we had a nice sea view. Lovely bathroom with rain shower and loved the Rituals toiletries. Beach front location, a nice easy walk to bars and restaurants. Downsides for us, no tea/coffee making facilities. Luckily I asked about this in advance and took our own. Only 4 coat hangers, we coped with this because we were only there for a couple of nights. Free parking at the front of the hotel which was a pleasant surprise. Reception said at this time of year parking isn't normally a problem, I guess summer would be different.

Location was great right in front of beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean and fresh. We paid for a twin room with patio view. We were given a very tiny room with a window overlooking a interior roof of hotel it was dark not much light. When we saw manager about the patio view, she responded with " in Spain a patio is a roof." When I showed her the icon (on ***********) re patio and what it looked like she then said *********** had put the wrong information on their site about the room. When I asked for another room she said that it would cost an extra 480 Euro for a marginally bigger room. When we said that was not acceptable they changed the price to 200 Euro extra when we refused they said okay 100 Euro. We agreed to the other room which was not much bigger but had a view of neighbourhood and had better light. The bathroom had no shelves and no shower screen or curtain. Water flooded the bathroom floor when you had a shower. No coffee and tea in the room. We asked for refund in the end as we thought the room was overpriced and were overall unhappy with price of 1275.00 Euro for 7 nights. When we asked for a refund later in afternoon the owner got back to us (through the reception staff )at 9pm that evening saying that we could only get our money back if we left that night and we could not get a refund if we stayed that one night. It was obviously too late to move so we decided to stay on as we felt we had no choice. Felt manipulated this is never a 4 star hotel.

This is a great hotel where the staff genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. It is a beachfront hotel, incredibly clean, breakfast is included and you get a hot and cold selection which is 10/10. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Outside pool is good. Bedrooms are modern, clean, well appointed. Bathrooms are also wet rooms with an excellent shower. My only criticism is with the bathroom, there is no storage space, not even a shelf to put your things on. Otherwise I would have given a perfect score.

This was our 1st time at this hotel and it definitely won't be our last! What made this a special stay....... friendly smiling staff and reception who couldn't do enough for you......the food was excellent and breakfast menu alternated every other day. We tried most things on the breakfast menu and all were soooo tasty and plentiful. The tapas we had for lunch one day were equally as good. We wish we had tried more and when we stay again we will! The pool area and rooms were spotless and our room always smelled so fresh. The bed was comfortable and air conditioning and showers worked well. We're glad we didn't take notice of a few of the 1 star reviews. I'm not sure if they stayed in the same hotel as we did. Our only very small negative comments were not enough hangers for our clothes and what we assumed was a fridge wasn't cold but it certainly didn't ruin our stay and the lovely idea of the takeaway breakfast made up for it. READ!! Money first as so many reviews say. Don’t ignore. Stairs all cracked and broken inside, room shower overflows everywhere. Room is tiny and bed is not even a double. What’s worse is we had an emergency and had to leave - manager agreed we could leave early and have a refund for the days we were leaving. As soon as we had the bags in the car and went to check out, they changed their mind!!! Said the manager had left for the day and couldn’t speak to her and they wouldn’t refund the few days extra stay. I eventually got the manager on the phone and WOW - soooo rude. She couldn’t care less. She said she makes the decisions and she’s changed her mind. Honestly. Money grabbing, please be careful if you decide to go here. Do not give them your credit card!! Oh and the pool is in the car park!!!

Lovely stay,this hotel is clean and bright,is run by delightful staff,offers a very good breakfast and is reasonably priced. I was worried by some of the negative reviews but honestly in my opinion they are nonsense.The rooms are not big but well, designed and functional with good bathrooms.They do not charge for pool towels,just a returnable deposit and they give adequate water in the rooms.They do not try and make money during your stay,our room bill was zero when we left. We will certainly stay there again.

This hotel is fantastic. It’s chilled and peaceful. The staff are brilliant especially Joel. Nothing is too much trouble . The breakfast was great even though the hotel was full there was no problem being served . The pool area is great . The view from our balcony was lovely and I recommend getting a room with a sea view. The hotel is central for the arenal and the port. The rooms are clean and the showers are hot . Every amenity you want is provided. The rooms are not big but adequate. I have nothing negativity to say.

Hotel review I would never return This is one of the more challenging reviews I’ve written. Ordinarily there is a clear cut case making a place top rated or consistent poor performance to deserve 1 or 2 stars. However here it took me a while to get to the final rating. What was it that bothered me when a lot of the staff is sweet and attentive? The hotel is clean and overall it works? And while breakfast is disappointing in quality the included ‘a la carte’ option I tried was not bad at all. So what is so wrong that we wished we stayed somewhere else? After three nights I realized what haunts this location to the extent that I’ve settled on 2 stars only. It’s the ‘money first, guest second’ attitude of the entire operation. An attitude that that must be driven by the owners. It’s the breaking down of items, even simple safety items on stairs and lights, the phone in your room, the lock on the bathroom door that are not repaired. It’s the design shower that sells well on room pictures, but overflow when you use it. It’s the selling of an infinity pool that looks out on the ocean, but in reality you stare at the SUV parked in front of it. It’s the 10 o’clock opening of the swimming pool, two hours after many guests would want to enter. It’s the late start of breakfast to ensure the tourist have already left for their trips and won’t eat. It’s the serving of mini water bottles in the room, one sip and they are finished, then charging for additional water. It’s the charging of pool towels with 10 euro each. It’s the lack of healthy, or even normal options in the breakfast buffet, such as fresh fruit or any charcuterie. It’s the lack of parking on site that’s never discussed. No one is helpful where you can then park. It’s the tiny room with the tiny bed that is sold as a double bed. It’s the charging of the entire stay upon arrival, before you see your room and know what’s wrong, while you could have cancelled with one nights charge had you not shown up or left immediately. REFUSE TO PAY UNTIL YOU SEE YOUR ROOM. THEN ONL PAY FOR THE FIRST NIGHT AND THEN DECIDE. That attitude of ‘let’s maximize our profits and think of guests second’, which perpetrates the entire hotel operation, makes that we will never come back. Rather we will chose one of the many other hotels or Airbnb in the city, which at same price or cheaper, provides double or triple the value. It’s all in the attitude.

It was a terrible experience. Called a couple of days before arrival to modify the last day of our stay of our reservation for a smaller room since we would be 2 instead of 4. Although there was availability, the owner refused to make the change. I expressed my disappointment to the owner for the lack of flexibility in making the modification to adapt to our needs, and the owner just decided to cancel our reservation, the very day of our arrival leaving the family in the street. Unbelievable. We asked for the complaint book, and they refused to give it to us, which is illegal. Horrible hotel. Horrible treatment. No customer helpful.
