I stayed at the Milton last night the 22nd and it was excellent. I had read the reviews and was a bot concerned by them so approached the entrance with caution. Its clear the building used to be an office block and home to the DHSS. I was directed to the hotel reception where the pleasant surprises began clean airy and a very efficient and welcoming receptionist. Then onto the room which medium sized was warm the bed comfortable and the shower powerful . I ate in the bar and had a well cooked meal and a beer . Next morning breakfast was simply incredible value the selection was large the coffee good and the produce used a step up. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful . Reading the previous reviews, it makes me wonder if we stayed at the same hotel! We've just spent two nights here over the Easter weekend. The room was great (booked a superking), but the breakfast was not good at all. On checking in, the reception staff warned us several times that it can get very 'chaotic' at peak times and we should avoid those times. It wasn't the 'chaos' that was the problem, it was a very limited choice of food coupled with poor management. The first morning there was no fruit available apart from some oranges, and on asking for some I was told the fruit compote had run out (this wasn't at the end of the breakfast service either). Eventually some bananas were brought out. On the second morning the fruit compote was actually frozen (I literally had to cut the strawberries with a knife, and my partner couldn't eat his). There are only four hot items served, so on some days there are no eggs because there's eg hash browns instead. The sausages were so awful I didn't eat mine (& I always clear my plate!) On one of the days the croissants had run out, again even though it was nowhere near the end of the breakfast period. The serving staff look overworked and stressed, and I feel very sorry for them as this is clearly not a well-managed hotel.

Stayed here a while back whilst on a business trip. The room was huge and I was so impressed with the bed and linen I emailed them when I got home to find out the make. Great bathroom and the little touches like the sweets in the fridge were fab. Ate in the restaurant and quality and portions were great. Staff throughout the hotel were a credit. Will look forward to another stay

Booked via Copthorne direct. Decent queue at Check in which is from 2pm, room not ready told to come back at 3. Strangely they wouldn’t take our bags until then? Anyway went out to OT got back at 9:45 tried to get 2 hot drinks from the bar but told machine was off. Room was just ok. Looks like it needs an upgrade. Room was clean enough but the bathroom had several cracked tiles, horrible silicone and an actual chip in the bath that had been ‘painted’. Bed was awful. That mattress had seen some traffic and in desperate need of a changing. Breakfast.. bloody hell where do I start. Waitress at the desk was very pleasant. No cutlery on the table. Several dirty tables waiting to be cleaned away. No plates at the hot food area, then topped up with cold plates once requested. Offer of hot food was poor. Dishes under the lights with very little left. Looked like it had been rattled by a bus tour, this was 8:30. Maids were very pleasant, receptionist upon checking out was also Bert nice. All in all decent staff bang average hotel and amenities. If I had paid £150 for the night then fair enough but it was £300 ..

Excellence view . Very clean and comfortable. Convenience location. You can walk to Quay side Media City for shopping and walk along the quayside with nice view. Close to downtown area. Highly recommend.

Forgotten to write a review here last month right after my visit. Hilton has never disappointed me. Although it was just a short stay for a night, we felt welcomed. Diego was the best of the best in the hotel, he managed to get us checked in within minutes. The rooms were great as well, overlooking the cricket ground. Well maintained throughout the entire property. The only downside is with the bed, it is relatively small compared to other Hilton's King size beds. Don't forget to bring your own slippers as they don't provide with any. It would be best to have some stock there and make it available upon request (maybe at a charge to cover the extra cost?). The staff at the breakfast lounge were great as well, helped me heated up my croissant, which makes it a wonderful day to start with. Will definitely be there again when I visit Manchester or Liverpool.

Very new hotel rooms. Massive space. We had kids so plenty rooms for them and the baby cot. Seperate toilet and bathroom which I will say is great design for more than 1 person using the room. Seperate tea making area, looks delicate for takeaway preparation with a sink as well, which is bonus for if anyone didn't like to use the sink in the toilet for make tea or wash cutlery. It will be better to have a little fridge, as proper tea drinker would like to have fresh milk. My kids and hubby had breakfast, which is reasonable price £10 per person, they rate it easy 7/10, coffee let the breakfast down. On site parking also very good value £14per night. Location is excellent, very near to piccadillly train station, walking distance to Central Manchester. Special mention, excellent staffs! Everyone is very friendly and helpful! Genuinely nice, saw my husband taking 3 kids to breakfast, offer helps and make sure he and the kids alright. Hightly recommended!

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Britannia Bolton hotel having read reviews I was not looking forward to our stay but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived, reception and corridors all spotless and the room we received was clean, comfortable and bathroom looked like it had just been upgraded, the staff were all pleasant and looked after you very well. Our morning started with a lovely breakfast good selection of cooked items as well as cereal's, toast etc not a large choice for evening meal but the price you pay couldn't complain.

The hotel was very clean and modern . The staff were exceptionally professional but also very approachable, friendly & informative of the local area. Would definitely visit again.
