First a few years ago well visiting Wilmington, we decided to spend the weekend. Stepping into the ballast because it looked like a nice building and great location. I'm walking in the first person we met at guest services was rude and unwelcoming. This was in 2021. Since that happened, we began staying at the aloft down the street. Last weekend we decided to give it another try and booked a room online at the ballast. When we got into the room, it appeared nice at first. Got settled, and tried to cool the room off but air conditioner was not working properly. It would not cool the room. It rained it was humid in the room. The bath hooks in the bathroom were hanging out of the walls and the commode was loose from the floor. There was mold in the shower I expected a lot more from a Hilton hotel. Throughout the weekend, I was receive text messages, asking about our stay, and I brought up the issues, nothing was addressed. At check out, we went downstairs to return the keys and it was brought to our attention. We had to pay for handicap parking in a parking lot that does not secure or is responsible for your valuables, and handicap is very very far distance from check-in. Being from South Carolina, having a handicap placard you can park anywhere and not get charged. I think it is ridiculous to be charged $20 a day for handicap parking that is in accessible to everything. Needless to say, we will not be recommending this hotel anytime soon
