TownePlace Suites Burlington Williston

My family stayed two nights at this hotel while taking an autumn driving trip through New England. The hotel is older but has been updated and was very well cleaned. We stayed in a first floor room right next to the entry door and worried at check in that it may be noisy due to its location, but never heard a peep from the outside. That is one nice thing about an older property! I feel like they're more well insulated than newer locations! The room was on the small side, but big enough for our family for a couple of nights. May pose an issue for a longer stay, though. I am a Marriott gold member and will say I am lucky that I cashed in points on the room. Granted I know I was staying at peek fall time but the room rate was well over $300 a night during our weeknight stay! No way I would pay that rate, for this property, but understand that it is tourist season!

My wife and I stayed here for five days during which we took day trips to enjoy the surrounding area. It was fantastic. It is perfectly located to take many various kinds of trips using the hotel as home base. In less than two hours, you can be up on Lake Champlain's islands enjoying their amazing beauty, or you can be up in the mountains just shy of the Canadian border. We also did a trip to Smuggler's Notch and Stowe on an amazing road over the mountain and through Smuggler's Notch which is very winding and narrow, but amazingly picturesque. I believe they close it at the end of October due to the snow. You can fashion these day trips however you want including very many diverse options. Being close to Lake Champlain, four out of five of our dinners were right on the lake. We have fallen in love with this area and will most definitely return, and I would certainly return to this very fine hotel with a very caring and attentive staff.

I helped a female friend obtain a room at the hotel. Over a year later, I checked into the hotel with my wife. The general manager, Tim Brahmsted, told my wife and son that I had previously stayed at the hotel with another woman. He said he felt it was his moral duty to tell my wife and son that I was cheating on her.
