I had the pleasure of staying at Malolo Bed and Breakfast while consulting in the DC area, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This cozy gem came highly recommended by a colleague, and I’m so glad I followed their advice. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and perfectly optimized for relaxation. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the blackout curtains ensured a blissfully dark and restful environment. I rarely sleep well away from home, but I truly slept like a baby here! Breakfast was the highlight of my stay. Chef George prepared a delicious daily spread that seamlessly blended my personal favorites with Polynesian-inspired dishes. One morning featured rosemary potatoes, grilled vegetables, balsamic-glazed tomatoes, corned beef hash, fruit, and Greek yogurt. Another day brought curried vegetables, oven-roasted red and sweet potatoes, thick-cut bacon, and fresh fruit. Everything was cooked to perfection and accompanied by freshly roasted coffee—a delightful way to start a busy day. The owners’ warm hospitality was truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and ensured my stay was restorative. If you’re planning a trip to D.C., I highly recommend booking a stay at Malolo Bed and Breakfast. I

By far the best hotel/b&b stay I’ve ever had. I arrived late at night starving from a long flight and George brought me up a huge plate of pasta and an enormous salad all homemade (plus dessert) — and I ate every last bite! Everything about the room is great: totally spotless room that is cleaned every day, a huge, comfy bed with tons of pillows, peace and quiet in the neighborhood — I slept long and deeper than I usually do at home. Also love the huge shower head in the bathroom. They gave me rides to and from the metro, as well as occasionally all the way into the city when they were headed that way. It was so nice to wake up in the mornings to the smell of big, home cooked breakfasts and coffee. To me, all of this makes this place so worth it, and the fact that this is all covered in the stay is kind of insane. Thank you George and David for such a comfy stay! George, I miss your food.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Malolo Bed & Breakfast! Dave and George were amazing hosts and the food was absolutely delicious. They are amazing hosts and made us feel so welcome in their home. We will definitely be visiting them again!

This B&B is a rare gem. The rooms are brilliant. George is warm and excellent host. His breakfasts are epic! Any disadvantage from being a bit out from the centre of town is overcome as George provides daily drop off to and pick up from the local MET station which is a speedy, safe and clean service. Highly recommended.

This was a beautiful bed and breakfast and George was the best host. Breakfast was included and delicious and we had a great selection of food. What better way to start the day! George was so kind and accommodating and a lovely host. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I think this was a much better experience than we would have had in an airbnb where you don't know what to expect. Would love to come back and stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Malolo B&B. The hospitality was excellent, the room was spacious and very comfortable, and the breakfasts prepared by Chef George were first class. We also appreciated the pick-up and drop-off service by George at the airport. We will be back!

We stayed at this B&B in October. Here are a few thoughts / tips. 1. If you want to stay here, contact them directly for the best deal. 2. George is super friendly and cooks an amazing spread every morning for breakfast. You will not leave hungry. 3. Everything is very welcoming and clean. 4. The Benning Road metro station is not far away. It is about a 10–15-minute walk. You only have to walk if you want to as George will take you to and pick you up from the metro. 5. If you want to get picked up or need anything in a timely manner from George, call him. Don't just text, call him for a faster response. 6. We took the metro all week and were able to get pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. 7. The rooms are large and comfortable. 8. George will go out of his way to make sure you have a good time. 9. I do wish the TVs were a little larger in the rooms. They are smaller than what you see in a hotel or what I have seen in other B&Bs. 10. This was the perfect place for our weeklong stay!

I have to say that my stay at Malolo Bed and Breakfast exceeded all expectations. I was in Washington for a conference and decided to stay outside of the downtown core for a slightly different experience. What I didn’t expect was the warm inviting hospitality that George and David provided. From the very first communication, George was so helpful and friendly! They helped me with ideas of things to do and places to eat. Told me tons of amazing stories about DC. I also really loved the morning breakfasts each day. My room was very spacious and even bigger than in pictures online. I slept so well! I have been to Washington before but this is truly the most memorable trip.
