Hotel Tirrenia

We ended our tour of beautiful Tuscany with a 4 night stay at this hotel. What a fantastic find. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel is modern and clean and the room was a perfect size with small balcony and a large comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. It was good to have a fridge too. Breakfast was amazing, croissants, rolls, cheeses, eggs and bacon, and a fantastic table full of fresh fruits which were delicious. It’s situated in a perfect location, about 200 metres from the beautiful promenade and beach, and a 10 minute walk the other way to the station. Would definitely recommend and we look forward to staying here again on our next trip.

This hotel is a little gem at the heart of Viareggio. It is extremely friendly and and welcoming. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are modern, clean and spacious. We used this hotel as a base for 5 nights as part of a multi-stay holiday. We could not have asked for a better place. Our stay was bed and breakfast and the breakfast was excellent. It is not far from the train station (approx 600m) so easy to get to. You can walk out directly to the sea, restaurants and bars. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, making our whole stay a pleasure. Thank you!

We stayed for five nights as a group of four people. The hotel is spotlessly clean in all public areas and rooms. We had a comfortable bed and plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe. The bathroom was modern with a walk in shower but no bath which isn’t a problem for us. We booked a room with a small balcony and could see the sea from there. We cannot find fault with any part of this hotel. The staff are so helpful, pleasant and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and I particularly enjoyed the excellent selection of fresh fruit. The ladies looking after us were very attentive and again, the breakfast room was exceptionally clean. The hotel is in a really convenient position being very close to the beach and Viareggio has lots of restaurants and cafes to chose from. The hotel gave us towels to use on the beach and a discount voucher for sun beds as the beaches are private. We would definitely stay in this hotel again if we were to return to Viareggio.

Worn and rough towels, folding beds as single beds, very uncomfortable. The proprietor Mauro is bad tempered and rude. Only one soap for to people to wash hands and take showers. The location is bad( far away from centre) .

The manager/ proprietor Mauro was rude and screamed at me when I complained about the blinds that did not work. He almost called me stupid and rushed after me at the staircase, very angry. At the bedroom he realized that the general key of the blind was off. He had to turned it on, not my fault. The fridge made an awful noise and there were some small holes at the wall that the cold wind came trough. The hotel is in the middle of nowwhere, you need a car é n order to eat out. the breakfast eas ok, Sabrina( his wife) was nice and polite.

The hotel could not be closer to the beach, restaurants and the port. The staff are super friendly and most helpful. Breakfast is excellent, great selection to choose from, always plenty of fresh fruits and pastries, and the cappuccino is super good. The bathroom was very clean, proper shower power, modern toilet and bidet, functioning hair drier etc. Because we stayed 12 nights, we had many clothes and it would have been a bit more comfortable to have a bigger wardrobe in the room. Thanks to regular and thorough housekeeping we always had fresh towels and good supply of toiletries. I definitely recommend this hotel, and we also hope to return next summer.

Beautifully presented hotel, perfect location on a side road opposite the beach. Service could not be faulted, everyone was so helpful amd friendly. Breakfast was tasty, small buffet style, and they even did hard boiled eggs for us. Rooms were immaculate, large windows/doors, with high ceilings, so had an airy feel. Nice to have an additional balcony too. Hand sanitiser available in communal areas (Italy is much more diligent regarding this, you need a mask on trains too). Overall if we were to visit Viareggio again, we would definitely stay here, why look around for anywhere else, when this ticks all the boxes? Thanks to Luca for being so responsive to emails, Erico and the lovely lady at the desk, for the helpful suggestions for trips and places to go. Victoria and her colleague for the fabulous morning coffee, plus everyone else, all so friendly, which made our stay extra lovely.

Five stars plus for this cosy, brightly clean beautiful hotel, at only 200 meters away from the Viarregio beach. A family run hotel, with very warm owners and stuff, that hardly work all day to make sure you are comfortable, well treated and happy all the stay. Abbracci per Stefania e Luca, torneremo presto, amici!

Our first time to Viareggio and this lovely hotel did not disappoint. Traveling with a young family, the rooms were pleasantly renovated (unlike some of the older photos on this site). The triple room was spacious and had a lovely small balcony that could look out on to the street and you could see the sea. Lovely. The room was enough for our family of three and the bathroom was beautiful and spacious. The shower was a standout! There's an elevator which is helpful when you have heavy bags/strollers or have mobility issues. The staff were so kind and helpful - kudos to them all. The breakfast was AMAZING! Lots of juices, lots of bread/cake, cereals and a couple of hot options. We let them know ahead of time that someone in our group was Gluten Free and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND by providing a big spread of allergen friendly options. Again, the staff were incredible. We took the train in from Florence and walked to and from the train station which was about a 10 minute stroll. The hotel has an option to pre-book a spot at the beach club at the end of the street (a few minutes walk). I learned that it was more expensive if you just went to the club yourself! With that being said, we went before high season, so maybe the reservation would be necessary at busy times. We were hoping to return to this hotel for another stay on our trip, but unfortunately, we ran out of time. We hope to return again, some day!
