We stayed at the Gardena Hotel for 2 nights in October and loved it! The room was very clean and is a good size (we had the room with the balcony). It’s located right off the Grand Canal, and is walkable to a lot of shops, restaurants, and is a 5 minute walk to the bus/taxi station (Piazzale Roma) and the main train station (enezia San Lucia). The staff is very friendly and professional. We would definitely stay again!

The major downfall of this property was that it was incredibly warm in our room despite having the air conditioner turned up all the way. I'm sure it has to do with the grid and being old but the hallway and even outside were cooler than our room. We found ourselves using our portable fans multiple times in the room. The location was excellent (right across from the train station so it wasn't a problem to wheel our luggage over). The staff were friendly and the breakfast (though modest) was delicious.

This hotel was exactly what my wife and I wanted. Close to the train and bus station. Walkable to everything. Beautiful room, friendly service and the US can take a lesson on what a continental breakfast is because this was amazing. Cakes, pastries, cheese, fruit, yogurt, juice, hard boiled eggs, etc.
My only wish is that we had a few more days to stay there.
