Hotel Agli Alboretti

Excellent. We wanted someplace that was clean, quiet, and safe, with easy access to ferries and tourist spots, but in a quieter part of Venice. This location was perfect, on the edge of the tourist zone with access to many different vaparetto lines for easy access to all of Venice, and a very easy walk to St Mark’s Square and the Rialto bridge areas. The hosts were helpful and friendly with our questions, and prepared a breakfast “to go” when we had to adjust our departure time to a very early train. We had room 404 on the top floor which was spacious and quiet. We were traveling as a couple but the room had a twin trundle bed and would have been great for families too. The windows had screens to keep bugs out. I recommend and would stay here again.

Could not have been more pleased with this place. Clean cozy very comfortable. Staff very accommodating, great suggestions for restaurants, etc., Owner Sylvia routinely gave directions on how to get where ever we were going. Great location, highly recommend staying here.

Venice is at once the most strikingly beautiful city in the world, and victim of saturation tourism, much of it ill-educated and vulgar. How the savour former, without the contamination by the latter? Well, this lovely hotel is THE place to start. Family run (in an age of fleeting hotels) over three expert generations, with a proper reception desk (in an age of ghastly 'remote' entrance accommodation). And, most importantly: staffed by people who know their extraordinary lagoon city with cultured pride, and go the extra kilometre and careful thought to guide you to the maximum enjoyment of what interests you most. The more of that you show and demonstrate, and the more intelligently you do so, the more these wonderful people will help you deserve and enjoy the wonder that is Venezia. And oh please: learn at least a few words of Italian, if only to elevate yourself above the rude visitors who cannot be bothered. The building is perfectly located on a lovely street 'alle spalle' from the great Accademia art gallery, and moments walk from both the Accademia bridge/Grand Canal, and Zattere on the Canale della Giudecca. Ergo, vaporetta boats to everywhere, including from and back to Marco Polo airport. Decor is charming old school: unpretentiously comfortable, and tasteful. Rooms very comfortable, and warm in winter, when La Serenissima is at its best. The restaurant, run separately managed, is very good - again, in a city of tourist traps. The hotel was great! The staff was helpful and breakfast provided a lot of options. The breakfast team was great and provided me with my double espresso every morning! Highly recommend

We love this hotel! Staff are terrific, friendly and helpful. We had one of the larger rooms, with a bedroom, sitting area and TWO bathrooms. These were modern, well designed and always extremely clean, as was the bedding, etc. Everything was set up efficiently. Breakfast was of good variety and quality. The location was perfect for us: practically next door to the Accademia museum and vaporetto stop. It’s also close to the Giudecca, where you can get a Vaporetto to the train station that’s much less crowded than those on the Canale Grande. We chose to stay in Dorsoduro in order to avoid the crowds of many other areas. There are plenty of great restaurants, in fact the restaurant of Agli Alboretti is highly rated. We look forward to returning to this hotel!

The staff at Reception, the cleaning staff and the service staff at breakfast were all lovely. When checking in, i was spoken to in Italian as I'd chosen to speak the language. Some places may revert to English when it's not your mother language but they respected my choice. The hotel is so very near the vaporetto stop at Accademia, which makes it really convenient if finding it on foot is too challenging.

Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the location and the vibe of this hotel. The rooms are spacious. Breakfast in the garden was special touch. Breakfast buffet was delicious and generous. The service was overall very good except for the night staff who prepared the breakfast buffet. We were leaving for an early flight and needed a breakfast box to go. It was very disappointing for the price we paid (12 Euros each) for cake and muffins wrapped in paper towels, no fruit, no packaged yogurt or cheese or any cold drinks. When I asked the male staff member for a cold drink before we left the hotel, he was annoyed... stating he was getting breakfast ready (it was 0600 a.m.). I got a glass of water from him. I would stay here again but I would book a room facing the back rather than streetfront because the restaurant traffic will keep you up till at least midnight.

It was the perfect stop before our sailing cruise in Sept. It was close to the port (1 km walk) to their terminal and we enjoyed the time to see the sights of Venice prior to departure.
