Dit hostel is een absolute aanrader! De kamer was ontzettend schoon en het beddengoed lag al netjes klaar. De medewerkers waren heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ondanks dat het hostel zelf erg levendig is met veel events, was het op de kamers verrassend rustig, wat een goede nachtrust garandeerde. De airco werkte bovendien perfect. Het ontbijt was prima, al vond ik het wel jammer dat de prijs doordeweeks plotseling omhoog ging van €7,50 naar €9. De locatie is ook top: Venetië is binnen 30 minuten te bereiken.

The hotel reception blamed Trip.com, saying they should not and cannot charge the city tax, and then asked me to pay again. Overall, I had a good experience at the hotel, but the reception staff need better training. When I checked out, the receptionist asked me to pay the city tax. I told her that my booking clearly included the city tax, but she kept insisting that what I had prepaid did not cover it. At that moment, I couldn’t find the booking receipt in my email, so I couldn’t show her proof right away. Because she kept saying I was wrong, my teenage son started to believe her and argued with me, saying, “If she asks for it, just pay, it’s only €14.” This was upsetting, not because of the money, but because it set the wrong example for my son. In the end, I paid the €14 again and then took about 10 minutes to search through my email. When I finally found the booking receipt, I went back to show it to her — proving that I was right and the city tax had already been included. At that point, she asked someone else for help (possibly a manager), and instead of apologizing, they blamed Trip.com, saying I should ask the agent for a refund. I later contacted Trip.com, and they processed the refund without any issues. I’ve used Trip.com many times before, and I’ve never had a problem like this. The real issue here is not the money but the lack of professionalism at the hotel reception.

We had a great experience staying at this hotel! Although it's rated as a three-star property, keep in mind that it’s three stars in Venice—which is definitely not the same as a three-star elsewhere. The charm and quality here exceeded our expectations. You won’t find a lot of reviews about this hotel, but I did come across a YouTube vlog by a mother who shared her family stay here. She said it was a really good choice—and she turned out to be absolutely right! We booked a Prestige Room with Canal View and specifically requested Room 101, which we saw on TikTok or YouTube (can't recall exactly where). The photos already impressed us, but the reality was even better. The ceiling was much higher than expected, which gave the room a beautiful, airy feel. The hotel still shows older pictures online, with an outdated TV, but we were happy to find a newer TV already installed. The amenities were excellent—truly some of the best I’ve experienced in a hotel of this category. Breakfast was on the smaller side, but absolutely sufficient. The cakes and pastries were quite decent, and having them in such a beautiful, old-style interior made it feel like we were stepping back in time—in the best way possible. A huge shoutout to the staff, who were all genuinely kind and accommodating. We felt their hospitality in even the smallest gestures, and it was very much appreciated. Lastly, the location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge, close to everything. Being so near the heart of Venice made it easy to go out and explore, then return to rest and recharge. It's also conveniently close to shopping areas, which is a nice bonus. All in all, this hotel was a hidden gem. If you're looking for a stay that combines charm, comfort, location, and authentic Venetian vibes, this is a fantastic choice. That mother on YouTube was right—it really is a great choice!

LOCATIE EN VERVOER: Het hotel ligt op Giudeca, het eiland tegenover Venetië. Je hebt een boot nodig om er te komen. Het hotel biedt elke 30 minuten een bootdienst aan vanaf San Marco, voor € 15 per persoon per verblijf. LET OP: Het is niet gratis. Ik heb recensies gelezen die zeiden dat het gratis was, en het hotel verzekerde me dat het nooit gratis is geweest. Als je de ACTV-boten wilt nemen, een soort zeebussen, kost het € 9,50 voor 75 minuten. Op deze manier kun je de bus nemen vanaf een andere halte dan San Marco en naar het eiland Giudeca gaan. Dit is belangrijk om te onthouden, want als je met z'n tweeën reist, moet je ongeveer € 30 bij de hotelprijs optellen voor het vervoer naar het hotel, omdat het op een ander eiland ligt. Ik moet zeggen dat het eiland erg mooi is, met zeer goede en redelijk geprijsde restaurants, en het is er erg rustig. Alleen de lokale bevolking komt er, er zijn geen toeristen en de prijzen zijn niet zoals in restaurants die op toeristen gericht zijn. In die zin is het een echte aanrader voor een verblijf in een rustiger deel van Venetië. PERSONEEL: Ze zijn erg vriendelijk, hoewel ze geen Spaans spreken. Voor de reis probeerde ik via e-mail, chat of sms met het hotel te communiceren, maar dat lukte niet. Dus als je vragen hebt over vervoer, bijvoorbeeld over vervoer, dan lukt dat niet. KAMERS: Ik had een suite geboekt om comfortabel te zijn en problemen te voorkomen; ik heb kosten noch moeite gespaard. Er zijn twee ruimtes: de nieuwe en de oude. Er zijn kamers die ouder en traditioneler zijn. Gelukkig kreeg ik de nieuwe. De nieuwe kamers zijn netter, maar ze halen lang niet de kwaliteit van een 5-sterrenhotel. Als architect moet ik zeggen dat het niet voldoet aan de kwaliteitsnormen van een 5-sterrenhotel. De afwerking is slordig en de materialen zijn van slechte kwaliteit. De hele vloer van de kamer was vies. Er lag overal stof en de lampen zaten onder het stof. Vanuit het bed keek ik uit op de deur en de enorme afzuigventilatoren die onder het stof zaten. De siliconenkit van het bad bladderde af en was slecht gemonteerd. De badkamerspiegel zag eruit alsof hij uit een oosterse bazaar kwam, een afschuwelijk ontwerp voor een vijfsterrenhotel van Hilton. De tegels waren niet afgedicht. Iets heel belangrijks: het was erg koud in de kamer en ik merkte dat er veel koude lucht binnenkwam via de kozijnen, die nieuw waren maar blijkbaar slecht gemonteerd. Zelfs met de gordijnen en de verwarming aan, was het nog steeds erg koud. Het is jammer dat een nieuwbouwproject in deze staat verkeert. In alle hotels waar ik ben geweest, en dat zijn er nogal wat, of het nu 2, 3, 4 of 5 sterren zijn, zijn kamerfaciliteiten zoals thee of koffie gratis (geen drankjes of alcohol, uiteraard). In dit hotel moet je 6 euro betalen voor een thee uit een verlopen pakje en de goedkoopste die je kunt vinden. Ik dronk het op, denkend dat het inbegrepen was, net als overal elders. Het maakte me helemaal van streek. Ik heb er spijt van, want er was een heel leuk café in dezelfde straat als het hotel, en ze hadden me een beter café voor een betere prijs kunnen geven. Kortom, het is absurd om daarvoor de prijs van een hotelovernachting te betalen, het is het niet waard.

in love with our stay, the nearest stop is rialto mercato, just 100 meter walk. Perfect location to visit the main attractions. you whether can use vaporetta (water bus) or walk to the attractions. They also managed to get us vegan breakfast on top of that, really appreciate this gesture. The communication is smooth. But the only downside is the did not have lift, luckily we get the lowest floor, but i guess nothing can be done because this is one of the oldest building.

De kamer is niet groot en de inrichting is een beetje verouderd, maar de hygiëne is erg goed. Er is geen conditioner in het hotel en de mondwaterbeker is een plastic wegwerpbeker in een afgesloten verpakking. Het belangrijkste is dat het hotel recht tegenover het treinstation ligt. Het is minder dan 3 minuten lopen van het treinstation naar het hotel. U kunt het treinstation vanuit de hotelkamer zien hoofdeiland Venetië. We kwamen om 12 uur aan en het hotel stond ons toe om vroeg in te checken. Bovendien zijn er niet veel soorten ontbijt in het hotel en is de ontbijttijd van 6.30 tot 10.00 uur. Het hotel biedt geen slippers, tandenborstels en tandpasta, noch gratis water. Er is een betaalde kleine koelkast. Er zijn 2 kleine Chinese restaurants, 1 sushi-restaurant en een supermarkt genaamd Ali op 3-4 minuten afstand van het hotel (voor de prijs van 1 fles water van hetzelfde merk in de treinstationsupermarkt kunt u 6 flessen kopen in de supermarkt en heb er nog meer) Binnen 20 minuten nadat u een taxi van het hotel naar de luchthaven Marco Polo heeft genomen, kan het hotel een taxiservice voor € 60,- regelen, rechtstreeks aan de chauffeur te betalen. Het is duurder dan zelf een taxi nemen, maar er zijn niet veel taxi's. Er is ook een bus naar de luchthaven.

A good place to stay in Venice cheaply. The location is pretty well connected and i strongly recommend taking an independent bus, rather than their shuttle bus service - they drop you off by a busy road and the walk to Venice is not much shorter than the 20min one that you take from the Hotel to a bus stop (and it’s cheaper). I found it very disappointing that my message I sent 2-3 days before my stay with questions, was never read or answered. The room has all needed amenities, and is overall comfortable, however the only table is outdoors. The on-site shop is convenient, with prices not too racked up, so very reliable. However the Hotel restaurant is disappointing. We ordered a pizza and a kids menu burger and fries - the pizza was very average, but the burger was actually just the meat patty and fries?? While it was clearly called a burger on the menu. Additionally, it was neither cheap, or fast service. I’d say this is a good place to stay for a short trip to Venice, especially on the budget, but would not recommend using their extra amenities such as the restaurant or bus.

We’ve stayed in many hotels and apartments around the world, from tiny rooms to beautiful villas, and this was honestly our first experience like this. We arrived around 2:30 PM, right after check-in time. There is no elevator, but that’s completely understandable for an old Venetian building. We carried our luggage to the third floor, and while my wife was speaking with the host, we suddenly found out that the bathroom was shared with another room. This was a huge surprise for us because on Trip.com the booking clearly mentioned private facilities in the room and a shower. Only later did we realize that the bathroom was actually outside the room and shared between two rooms, with separate keys for the wooden bathroom door. The bathroom itself was clean and decent, but for us this completely changed the experience. We have never stayed in a place with a shared bathroom before, and finding this out only at check-in was very disappointing. Another frustrating point was the check-out policy. Check-out was at 10:00 AM, which we already knew from the booking, but honestly this was only the second time in my life I’ve seen such an early check-out time — and I’ve probably booked more than 200 hotels. I think the only earlier one I ever had was 9:30 AM. I genuinely do not understand why there needs to be a 4-hour gap between check-out and check-in for cleaning a room that does not even have a private bathroom. On top of that, the host said it was impossible to leave luggage after check-out because she had “negative experiences” before. So after an already disappointing stay, this just added another layer of inconvenience. Other downsides: * terrible pillows — sleeping felt like your head was at a 90-degree angle; * extremely poor sound insulation, you can hear literally every movement from other guests; * in the shower there was nothing except hand soap near the sink — no shampoo, no conditioner, no basic amenities. Positive points: * very good location; * the room itself was clean; * coffee was available in the room. Unfortunately, the bathroom situation completely overshadowed all the positives for us. Because of that, I would rate this place 2/5.

Gelegen in een heerlijk rustiger deel van Venetië met veel plekken om te eten/bars etc. Handig voor de waterbus die net buiten is voor uitstapjes naar Murano en Burano. Personeel was vriendelijk genoeg en behulpzaam. Geen liften en niemand om u te helpen uw bagage naar uw kamer te brengen. Houd daar dus rekening mee als je een grote bagage hebt. Dat was voor ons geen probleem, omdat we altijd licht reizen. Het ontbijt was erg basic en werd geserveerd in een kleine entree naar de eetkamer. Een beetje krap om koffie en eten te krijgen, erg druk. We verbleven half oktober en de kamer was nog steeds erg warm. De airconditioning werkte niet zo goed, maar het was draaglijk, maar ik kan me voorstellen dat het in de zomer erg warm zou zijn. En als je het raam openzet, zijn er in Venetië veel meer muggen dan in de jungle van Borneo! Neem dus je insectenwerend middel mee. Dat deed ik niet, dus ik zat onder de beten. Redelijk geprijsd, dus oké voor een korte trip. Mijn 4e keer in Venetië, het is altijd magisch, het maakt alles goed!
