I booked this hotel for my wife and I for a miniature getaway. We don't do this very often, so I opted for a nicer hotel in the newer Waterfront area with lots of dining options. When we arrived, we realized there was no onsite parking; we had to choose between paying $45 (not including tip) for overnight valet or parking on the street. We chose the street but there were no options all that close, so we had to walk 2-3 blocks with our stuff in the pouring rain.
Once we got inside, the male staff member was adequate. He did his job and was fine without being overly friendly or talkative.
The room was nice and spacious but we quickly realized it lacked some of the basic amenities you'd expect from a hotel: sufficient wall outlets, no paper/pen, and a terrible shower. It had an above head rain shower head with low water pressure, and no barrier separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom except for the shower curtain. After I finished and opened the curtain, I saw water all over the floor. It took 3 towels to sop it up.
On top of all this, the room was noisy. They actually left earplugs for us with a note that referenced the noise from the street. There was no noise outside, but quite a bit above us. We were on the 8th floor and I thought it was the top floor, so I don't know what was going on up there.
The décor and room was nice but it was nowhere near worth the cost.
