Hotel El Capitan

"Such a cute idyllic historic hotel. The courtyard is nice and lobby area picturesque. However it is quite a haul to enter the hotel with luggage. There are no exterior entrances to access rooms and elevators so if you check in at night you have to walk through guests drinking and entertaining in the courtyard, as there is no clear path to enter the hotel from other guests.  One hotel staff was friendly, the other was just unprofessional.  The room was very small for two people. Bathroom was modern and updated, though tiny as well.  If I would have known a train honked its way loudly through town all night and morning, I would have stayed somewhere else. Thank goodness for the loud air conditioning to cover it up a bit.  Breakfast was nice with a breakfast taco option and adorable make yourself Texas shaped waffle. Coffee was good but all items were almost gone by 8am and in need of replenishing.  Off the beaten path and in an undesirable area will not have us coming back. A pool, spa and exterior courtyard may maintain more returning guests? It did feel like a historic Fort Worth cowtown charm, so cute to stop."

"Convenient transportation, everything is OK, the bathroom has plenty of hot water and the bed is comfortable. But I found that there is a cockroach on the TV table. The breakfast is very rich and delicious. There are three kinds of fruits and many types of bread. Each of them is specially wrapped."

Knights Inn Van Horn

"Het Knight’s Inn is een goede, maar niet uitstekende keuze als hotel in het algemeen. Voor een redelijke overnachting waar een rustplaats uw zorgen is, past het Inn de rekening. Het is schoon, maar een beetje dateren en de koelkast was lawaai en had wat er aan de achterkant van een van de bergingen leek mild. Het hotel ligt op de Main Street van een spoorweg met nachttrein, net als alle hotels langs de straat. Het is laag. Geen ontbijt en geen vroege opening in Van Horn. Terwijl het Inn een aantal neerwaartse neerslag heeft, geef ik het een “tums op”. Voor een overnachting, zouden we daar weer blijven."
