Samaki Lodge & Spa

The resort is very big, completely surrounded by plants and flowers of any kind. The restaurant is good and the restaurant with a la carte menu is exceptional, with a fantastic staff! The staff is all kind and supportive, the manager Ali helped us in everything we needed! Super recommended!!

So, we stayed at ‘The Beach B&B’ which is linked to and within the same amenities as ‘Samaki Lodge’ - from what we can tell the difference is just the location of the bedrooms, Samaki Lodge rooms are within the lush tropical gardens, The Beach B&B rooms are in a block which are beside the pool and if on the upper floors then balcony view over the beach. We had a view of the beach and enjoyed our very comfortable room and the nice pool area. Then, to confuse things a bit more, both these two resorts are also then linked through a walkway to the Palumbo Reef resort next door which is an all inclusive type resort with large pool, entertainment team putting on activities like pool aerobics, yogi, evening shows etc. Staying at any of the 3 accommodations means you can use the facilities at each. Which is very nice if you want a bit more going on but also have a quieter pool area if you don’t want that. For us, we felt it was a shame to have all the bars, restaurant and pool table etc facilities at The Beach B&B/Samaki Lodge all closed and they expect you to get all food and drink from the Palumbro resort next door. Which, when you book somewhere based on small intimate facilities is somewhat unexpected and although nice to have some of the time at the resort next door but not so nice for the whole stay. We wanted a drink beside the pool and so went to reception to ask, they said we needed to go to the resort to order and I kindly requested that they took my order and had it brought to us as the bar was not open which would really be expected. They agreed and said they often had this complaint and had told the owners/management but they hadn’t done anything about it. This is my way to highlighting to management - you should at least have one bar open beside this pool!!! Would definitely recommend any of these places depending on what you want from your stay as to accommodation as the staff in all areas of each resort were very friendly and nice! And everything is super clean and the flowers and planting all around is beautiful.

My time at samaki lodge and spa was short but sweet. It was my first time to zanzibar so didn’t know what to expect. But it was brilliant! The staff were lovely and friendly, made us feel very at home and made it clear that they were happy to help any problems we may have encountered. My highlight of the stay would have to be the waiter who works at Kamakocha - Stefan (the on-site restaurant). He was the best waiter I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. To say his smile lit up a room would be an understatement! He really was a treat and accommodated any food or drink requirements we needed. I would return to samaki and would highly recommend to any other people thinking about staying in Uroa.

Its beautifull hotel, very kind personal. The staff will do everything. Nothing is a problem. Clean beautiful pools. very romantic place. Clean rooms every day. The cuisine is excellent only there could be more fish. There is little fish in the kitchen. It is often repeated, but it is delicious. we lack ice cream and bigger snacks.

We had some drinks with my brother and sister and Petro the Bar manager was great 😊👍 charming and professional. The food was delicious 🤤 we wanted to stay for overnight 🥹 we loved the place everything is into it perfection. Recommend to visit couples and friends.

We were fortunate to stay at Samaki Lodge & Spa. The place is paradisiac clean, pleasant and very comfortable. Special mention for the team which is brilliant: Hakuna Matata. Many thanks to Muhammad Ali who greatly contributed to the perfection of our stay in Zanzibar. Many attention for my birthday wish he made my day unforgettable Asante Sana ! We will return !

Siamo finiti al Samaki Lodge xche' il nostro albergo prenotato a Gennaio, il Palumbo Reef (che rimane di fianco) era chiuso, anzi venduto al gruppo Jaz e si chiamera' Amaluna. Ovviamente noi ci aspettavamo l'hotel delle foto, con tutti i servizi che ci avevano promesso, ristorante buono, spiaggia ampia, piscina grossa, snacks e bevande al bar e camere ampie e belle. Invece al Samaki, che era carino anche se piccolino, ci siamo trovati con poche pietanze al ristorante, spiaggia piccola con poche sdraio, una piscinetta piccola, 2 noccioline al pomeriggio e patatine umide,bevande limitate anche se a pagamento(birre e cocktails) e camere datate, la nostra bungalow senza finestra, solo la porrà d'entrata. Se si prenota una Struttura con determinati servizi e caratteristiche e poi si finisce in una minore e' ovvio che uno si lamenti. Invece chi ha prenotato direttamente il Samaki Lodge, sapeva cosa trovava. Per me non valeva gli stessi soldi. Comunque era carino tutto sommato ma non ci tornerei.

Prima volta Zanzibar e prima volta al Samaki, che dire!!! Semplicemente stupendo!!! Ottimo resort immerso in una vegetazione rigogliosa, il tutto ben curato con amore.. cibo ottimo e molto vario, tutto il personale è sempre disponibile, attento e segue con cura la clientela.. Un grazie a Marco il nostro cameriere che ci ha coccolati e seguiti fino alla fine del nostro soggiorno...Tutto questo incorniciato dalle splendide maree che offrono uno spettacolo della natura unico nel suo genere...
