Park Hotel Turku

Great location, close to everything. The staff was helpful. The continental breakfast was just basic.

The hotel is totally bad, humid, tv don’t work, and the service is poor!

Imagine you are given a wonderful suite with beautiful furniture, two comfy chairs and a divan and enough storage to place two steamer trunks of luggage. And then imagine that you cannot spend a single comfortable minute in the room. Sadly, that was my experience in the suite in Room 401 on the top floor of the Park Hotel in Turku. The beds were placed so pillows were up against the windows, and there was NO way to close the window shades to avoid direct sunlight striking the bed. And Turku was going through a heat wave and there was no good way to place the fan provided in the room in a way that improved air circulation. Result - Greenhouse! Good for flowers but not for people. Every day, I descended from my room to the ground floor, cooling off significantly as I went down. Always cooler on the ground floor than on the top. I slept badly every night I was there. Sweated profusely. I can imagine someone writing a great novel in that room, during a cool spell. It is a magnificent room and the hotel is well-placed to the train station, not a long walk from the market and the river, the buffet is quirky but good (bacon was only available one day and no more was made, but the fruit bowl was always well stocked and the cheese and bread were delicious), staff were friendly. But untenable during spring and summer.

A nostalgic hotel with a friendly staff, but: no A/C! You may think that this is a minor shortcoming in a country like Finland, but if it's +26 C ( 78.8 F) in the room because it's been an excessively hot late spring and early summer, you may wish to think again. A possible solution: only patronize the hotel in winter time! 😉

The whole hotel is extremely humid. The hotel has serious humidity problems. We contacted the hotel manager Eva Dziedzic after our visit giving her feedback on our stay. Her communication has been very arrogant and mean. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

We (two adults and two children aged 11 &12) stayed here and had a wonderful time. It was so lovely to stay at such an individual place with marvellously helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is spotlessly clean which shows the care and attention to detail of the staff given the number of decorative items there are. Location is fabulous for the town and the station. Thorough recommend. Would stay again.

The Park Hotel is very conveniently located at the central Turku, has buses passing and the main Railway Station right next to it. The place is in a beautiful historical building, and the rooms are cozy with personality and fun flare to the interior decoration, not the cold and sterile feeling that most modern locations have. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and had seen a good effort in offering a delicious and comprehensive breakfast. It was a delight to spend a night at the Park Hotel!

Park Hotel Turku was the perfect experience when looking for history, atmosphere and warm service. The room had captured the vibe of the jugend era and the beautiful atmosphere was never disrupted during the stay. We especially loved the fact that there was a soul in every room with books and decor to be explored. The breakfast was good with many alternatives fit into a tiny space.
