Disinterested staff, cramped room, window onto a ventilation shaft, furnishings best described as neo-Soviet. Be warned, the hotel is not in fact at the mouth of the harbour, it is a 30min walk from the Cat Ba ferry down a ghostly promenade of concrete and aggressive dogs. Convenient nonetheless if walking isn't an issue as taxis are unheard of.
