Super 8 by Wyndham Marshalltown

Personeel is verschrikkelijk onbeleefd en onprofessioneel. Kamers zijn walgelijk. Eerste kamer was niet schoongemaakt. T****e kamer had een enorme vlek die leek op braaksel. Derde kamer had bedwantsen en bloedvlekken op de lakens. Lui, onbeschoft personeel zou niet naar de kamer komen, dus namen we de lakens naar de receptie. Zou geen restitutie geven omdat ze zeiden dat we de kamer vuil hadden gemaakt door het laken te verwijderen. Zal nooit meer in een Super 8 verblijven.

This motel needs some updating and a good cleaning. One of our beds sheets had holes burned in them, in a non smoking room. We asked for new sheets and received them and was able to go to bed once we put the new sheets on the bed. The front door latch was held open by tape.

It was just fine for an overnight stay. Easy to get to and plenty of restaurants close by.

Shower did not work right. Couldn't move handle on faucet ,so half the water came out of the faucet ,the other half out of shower head.

I got 2 phone calls from an unknown number and no message was left. Friday night I tried to check on my reservation online but was having computer problems and ended up calling the hotel and was told that they had to cancel my reservation due to a plumbing problem. They offered me the phone number to a location an hour away from where I needed to be. I was calling every hotel around and there were only 2 options available on hotel had jacked up the prices for 2 rooms to $448.00 for one night. The other option was $ 120.00 for 2 rooms for one night. We went with the less epensive one. upon check in there I shared my story and said that they did not have plumbing problems they just overbooked and that decided who to let have the room based on if the booking was from a loyalty program and who would generate the most income for them. I was even more upset that this happened and I will never give them my business again. I will also happily share this story with anyone looking for hotel recommendations. This has never happened before and it's a horrible way to do bussiness.

This property was dirty, trash laying around, carpet was sticky. Dust on furniture, 2 spiders were in the bath tub. Rooms in poor maintenence

Do NOT stay here! Hotel old and out of date. No elevator to the second floor. Breakfast disappointing! They fraudulently overcharged me $176 and accused me of wetting the bed!

Outlets didn't work. Furniture broken. Microwave melted. Bathroom not functional. Reported issues to manager/owner and he didn't seem to care. Check in process was horrible as you had to dial 0 on a phone and wait for someone to come to the front desk.

I made a reservation here on Jan28th for two rooms for a group of bicycle riders participating in RAGBRAI. The ride is passing through Tama-Toledo on July 28th and this was as close as I could find. I made this reservation as soon as the route was announced and was lucky to get this close to the overnight town. On Feb 6th the hotel cancelled my reservations (as well as many other people who made their reservations there. I called the property 3 times about this situation. Three times I was told that the manager would call me back. Three times I never received that call. The only time I got any feedback from the manager was after I contacted Wyndham directly. Even then all I got was that they were already contracted with a "cornfield company". Which begs the question that if they were already contracted how was I (and many others) able to make a reservation? Wyndham itself was of no help except to send me emails that said they would "contact me within a week regarding my concern." That was Feb 27th. They still haven't made that contact. I understand that they kicked a bunch of people out because they could charge more for the room. I also understand that if I reserve a room and don't show up they will charge me for that room, after all they are mostly selling time and they can't get that time back, unused and unpaid for reservation is a costly waste for them. So now, I have to spend more time finding a new place, I have to travel much farther to find adequate rooms, and I have to spend more for those rooms. You would think that they would offer some kind of compensation for the time and effort that they caused to be wasted or even an apology. Didn't happen.
