Pura Vida Hostel

Mats was a great host full of handy recommendations for shopping and sight seeing with easy beach access just a short walk away. The hostel it’s self was charming and clean. A great spot with dorms and private rooms, as well as some of the best rates in Tamarindo. I highly recommend. Pura Vida!

This is a wonderful hostel, filled with beautiful art and lovely people, the owner max was extremely helpful and I felt completely at home. Has the most insane shared space with a huge cone like structure that sets the vibe immaculately, close to literally everything in town and there is a shop a 2 minute walk away, spent a whole day just chilling out here it’s so nice!!

This is a hostel close to the center of Tamarindo. It has a nice chill area and a good pool. The rooms are simplistic, nut fine. The people working here are very friendly. This was a good stay for a night (although we were not a fan of Tamarindo).

We are so lucky to have chosen pura vida hostel for our stay in tamarindo! The place is really nice, confortable and well situated. The owner is kind, funny, and help us a lot. The design in the room are beautifull and the bed really confortable. I really recomend this hostel if you want to enjoy your stay in tamarindo!! Pura vida mae!

This place is a scum. We stayed in January and we were charged twice twice once by ******* and manager of the hostel. We just found we still yet to be refunded . Place is very very dirty with zero atmosphere. Atmosphere is very weird and owner and his local friends that were building place constantly smoke in there. We did not felt safe at all. Place is overpriced and definitely there is much better options in town for much less money. We left after first night and found much better place.

This place is very weird and very dirty, they accept only cash and cant make official receipt for payment . We were double charged and still waiting for refund. The rooms are very dirty not to mention bathrooms. If you can avoid this place.

When I arrived, the owner of the property told me he wanted me to cancel my ******* booking and pay him cash because "he couldnt recieve the funds I paid through *******". I submitted a request for a full refund and ******* said they need confirmation through the owner of the hostel. The hostel owner told me that he confirmed with ******* and made me pay him money before I received any sort of refund for the money I already had paid for my stay. I contacted ******* yesterday to confirm that I was recieving a refund and they said they still couldnt contact the property owner to confirm. Therefore I have paid this man twice, once on ******* and once with cash for the same booking. I am pretty sure it is illegal to scam your customers like this, this is totally unacceptable. Please find a way to contact this man to help me recieve my refund. The hostel was also very dirty and smelled like stinky feet. As I was packing my bag to leave, I found peanuts scattered underneath my bed. I told my roommate and he said he saw them when he checked in earlier in the week. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month and the sheets I was given to make my own bed were stained. The hostel owner was also very rude and made me cry when he told me to pay him cash even though I hadn't recieved my ******* refund yet. I will never go back and I hope he doesn't scam the rest of the people who book through *******.

This is the best hostel ever !!! Close to everything , close to the beach , close to the skatepark , close to the supermarket and banks ! You can cook and There is art everwhere ! You will fall in love too !
