The room is a small. The toilet, shower and vanity area are all separated. Location wise was good, and staff are friendly.
I was impressed about their check in process. Hassle free.

The service was pretty standard. Half hearted average service. Breakfast was horrible though. Better option to not just get breakfast and go elsewhere. They could have made the price cheaper and not have breakfast. Lol...

The service agent (man)is not helpful, as i checked in very late, around 11:30pm, that’s why i would like to request a later check out at 1pm, but the front office agent insists. The check out time is 11 AM. Also, I booked a standard room but they gave me a very small one. When I went to another room to see, the room was bigger but my room is smaller and the wallpaper is actually very horrible and will make the children very afraid of it.

Hassle free self check in and check out. Great breakfast, just that for the 2 nights I stayed, the same spread of food was served, with no changes. Location great and hotel design is of retro theme.

Really have a pleasant stay in Papa Whale 👍🏻👍🏻 The hotel is kinda near to the Xi Men Road and can be reached by walking distance. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back again when I’m in Taipei.

- Cleanliness (lots of MOLD in bathroom, musty smell) - major bummer and had I read the reviews prior I would not have booked
Early into check-in I noticed the dirty room situation and tried to switch rooms and offered to pay the upgrade fee but they were unable to accommodate, despite the fact that it was the end of a weekend and the hotel was not busy. Do not recommend.
