Attended here 24/9 for a family wedding. After some initial planning issues due to multiple staff changes the wedding event ran very smoothly. The planner, Charlotte and the M/C, Chris were excellent and could not have done more to keep the whole event on track. The wedding took place in the Tithe Barn which transformed from official venue to dining room to dance floor seamlessly. The transition was helped by the perfect weather which meant guests could linger in the spacious gardens whilst the staff did their thing. Food was well prepared and even the minor issue of incorrect dishes to specific individuals was quickly rectified. Waiting staff were very extremely pleasant and affable whilst also being efficient. Buffet style breakfast the following morning with a good selection of hot or cold foods to select from. Lower levels of this building have benefitted from being totally refurbished following some severe flooding and this gives the hotel a really sleek and modern initial appearance. However, once you climb the stairs to the bedrooms all that changes. Whilst there was nothing specific that meant I had to complain the upper levels are really tired. The décor is dated and although clean could really do with updating. The windows are single glazed, timber framed so must ship heat to the outside world by the bucket load. The hot water in the sink took an eternity to heat and even then was only mildly warm. We, and other guests in our party, had multiple failures of the room key cards which meant having to trek all the way back down to reception to get the issue sorted. Yes, these are very first world issues but this is not a cheap hotel, it's run by a major international group and should be better. My advice, by all means book for a meeting, party, wedding or similar function but don't book over night rooms. It really was like visiting two separate venues on the one site.

The team here are so lovely and friendly! I was only staying for one night in Leatherhead for work and they really made so much effort to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I had a couple of presentations in the evening that I admitted to Joanna on reception I was quite nervous about and she wished me the best of luck and even checked in on how they went the next morning when I went down for breakfast. Her colleague Petia was also lovely and super helpful. I think it’s these small interactions that can make all the difference and I was impressed.

On arrival there was a new girl on Reception (black girl) and she told me that the room I had reserved was room only and I knew I had booked a b&b rate. Although she was very pleasant she said she was new and needed to check with a more experienced receptionist. A white lady came into the reception area and was telling me that the new girl didn't know how to check was was included in the room rate and started showing her - how to check for this while I was there. This white lady (had a foreign accent) was quite abrupt to me and I thought to myself, maybe if you trained the new girl better, she would be able to check these details. The new girl was apologizing, I said to her its not your fault, you need to get trained better in your role. She was a beautiful young girl and very friendly and tried to help as much as she could. The kettle in my room was not working but was replaced quite quickly. I went to get some milk from the trolley and the Housekeeper (Spanish) screamed at me - your are not allowed to touch the trollies and if you need anything, please contact Reception, I said shall I leave it back then and she said - No its OK!. Had to advice Reception if one, needed their room cleaned. Breakfast was nice except the mushrooms they were too hard and difficult to eat. Staff tend to move trollies and talk to each other when guests are around and they use the guest lift as a service lift. They got in the way at times when I was trying to get out of the hotel, they apologized for getting in my way. Majority of staff were friendly, rooms need updating. On my last day, I was getting some tea at breakfast time in the dining area and when I returned a staff member (Small Indian lady) was clearing away my food and I had only went to get a cup of tea and had not finished my breakfast, I told her I was still having my breakfast. I was annoyed as my room card was still on the table but she never noticed this and was clearing it away. They spray and clean empty tables very close to you as you eat your breakfast which is frustrating as the smell of the cleaning liquid is quite strong, It was my first time staying at this hotel, however in the past I have had coffee/tea there but never stayed before. I would rate is as a 3 star Hotel and not a 4 star Hotel.

A beautiful surprise! This place is utterly stunning from when you walk i, I stayed here on a whim for a business trip really not expecting much. Walked into my room and it was like my own mini apartment! Super cosy bed and pillows I slept ever so well, All high spec (plugs with usbs all over top), super clean, really well Located too! Certainly a place I’ll be staying at in the future.

We have been staying at the Hotel for a few weeks now. After long hours at work, we just wanted to stay somewhere where we can disconnect with work, relax and connect with other people. Nevertheless, I would like to share with everyone that Bar attendant (James) would always go that extra mile to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. Is not just about serving you a drink and taking orders. Excellent customer service by always interacting with customers, offering advice, friendly, accommodative making our staying very pleasant. I have been staying here for over 3 weeks with work and I couldn't be happier with the staff, they are helpful, Friendly and attentive. Fiona and Sammy deserve recognition from a truly amazing team. The rooms are are spacious and equipped with all you need, any further requests will be happily addressed by the staff.

Worth to book a stay on this accommodation. Very proximal to the train station and cheap for a night stay. 30-45 mins away from central london. The room arrangement is very authentic and cozy with complete amenities needed. I haven’t tried their in-house menus since I am on a budget but over-all I am satisfied. Might book another night soon if I will go back to London. Cheers!

Parking was easy, check-in swift and friendly and my room, as usual at this hotel, was clean, comfortable and very well presented. The server at dinner made sure I was happy with the table location, took my order, was engaged in her work and demonstrated great pride in her efforts to ensure customer satisfaction... the food and drink were both very enjoyable and filling too. The same can also be said for the breakfast team and content. Although it is of the buffet style the selection is wide, environment spotlessly clean and the team constantly busy ensuring everything is fresh and plentiful. Also, omlettes are cooked to order as a house speciality, yum! This hotel and it's staff are a gleaming example of how to make its patrons feel valued whilst not simpering or smothering guests. I don’t usually stay in Ibis hotels but this one is like no other ibis hotel I’ve stayed at. From the laid back informal reception area to the contemporary rooms this was a good overnight stay. I appreciated the welcome cookies. The room was spacious but clearly designed for short stays in regards to storage space. There’s USB ports by the bedside. The bathroom has a shower, no bath and good to see the body soap and shampoo in dispensers rather than individual plastic bottles. The water though was only luke warm. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent. Location is excellent in the centre of town and just a few minutes walk to the station. The restaurant menu was limited but adequate for most tastes. My only complaint was the pulsing noise of the bathroom extractor fan which is independent of the air conditioning in the room and not able to switch off.

I specifically booked a night at the Sofitel Gatwick because it included 'Meet and Greet' parking with Maple Parking. Had they not included this I would have still stayed but made other arrangments for my car. I arrived at the Maple Parking Meet and Greet and parked the car. Took my keys over to the attendant and signed in. I then asked if they could give me 20 minutes to check in to the hotel, change clothes and bring a bag back to the car. We didnt want to bring a bag of unclean clothes on holiday with us. Here's where things went downhill faster than Gwynth Paltrow on ski's. The attendant, a tall bloke with a mid-european accent shouted at me 'No, do you know you are at an airport'. He actually shouted this. Shouted. To a customer. Take a minute to breathe that in. Fortunatly I knew I was at an airport, having driven 4 hours to get there. To hear that I was at an airport was no surprise, to be shouted at by a car park attendant was. I explained that I didnt want to take a case of unclean clothes on holiday with me. His response to that was 'we are extremly busy and your car will be removed immediately'. I asked if the hotel would hold the bag and he replied 'No they will not hold your stupid bag'. Here's where I should have murdered him with his Maple Meet and Greet Staff lanyard, but I did not. I asked for my keys back to be told once again in an truely agresive manner 'if you take your keys I will close the entry and you can't come back'. I took the keys and left. I then had to park at Gatawick Long stay for an additional £150. We finally checked into the hotel, explained the situation. The checkin lady (Alessia?) apologised and gave us two tokens for a free drink at the bar. They also kept our bag for us. Is this the fault of Sofitel Gatwick? I think it is. They decided to partner with a company that treats people appalingly. So they've got to accept responsibility for that. Please share this review, If I saw something like this I would have chose another car park or another hotel. Other people should be warned.
