We have read the outstanding reviews of Surry Seafood Co. and decided to make the 1 hour drive for our 60th anniversary dinner on the 18th of May. Rainy, dreary day but the view from the dining area across the water was delightful. Not busy at all around 3-3:30 when we arrived. Greeted and seated promptly with menus to look over. Our server took our orders, brought our drinks and disappeared until she brought out our platters, again disappearing without asking if we needed or wanted anything else. We “needed” butter for our hushpuppies but did not receive it until we flagged her down and were almost finished with our meal. Both our meals were well prepared and tasty but nothing at all above your average seafood dinners, plus our service was actually a little below average. We had a gift card from family to help pay for our dinner and was told the restaurant “ does not accept” gift cards because it causes problems closing out their register at night ?? But there was no issue accepting our Debit/Credit card which is processed in the same manner. It’s unfortunate that we can’t rate our experience above average but I can say that if you are in the area and are NOT planning on using a Gift Card and decide to dine here, I doubt you will be disappointed in the food.

I went to this restaurant with my wife and three kids and the food was very nasty and did not have much flavor and the waiter was very slow and not attentive to the table bad . Kids food was better then anything and the workers are so slow and rude trash.

Beautiful view, priced right, easy check in. You can hear the neighbor noise. The restaurant noise is done by 9. It wasn’t a deterrent for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

This property was a shocker. I didn't think at first it was gonna be as great as it was. Was here on a business trip meeting a client near by and this place truly amazed me. I showed up to the restaurant where I was met by friendly hostesses. I didn't have much to do that night so I sat down at the bar where Christy didn't disappoint! All her recommendations for food and drinks were just what I needed to make for a great evening. Plus her great attitude was lively and was a pleasure to deal with. The blackend fish and shrimp with that magical sauce was out of this world and shouldn't be legal. All the staff seemed to get along great and worked as a team. The manager was attentive and even once I made it to my room came up to make sure everything was ok and to me liking. Over the top recommended if you're in the area and I'm certain the fishing is great also!

The highlight was being able to see out over the James river. The waitress was excellent but the food was just OK. Had the company salad and the salmon dip. Both were good, but neither were outstanding.

Great stay. Much bigger than the pictures show. We were very surprised at the size. Was expecting a studio style room and it was more like a 1 bedroom apartment. Not to mention the view of the marina below was great waking up to. The restaurant below was a bit pricey but worth every penny. Only thing lacking was the wifi. Very spotty when streaming through our Roku on the TV. The check in was a bit of a hassle as there is no front desk and the restaurant manager has to contact the company overseeing the room rentals. Overall nothing that would deter me from highly recommending this place and will definitely be staying again next time we are in the area.

Beautiful place with wonderful views. The room was very spacious and in excellent condition. Convenient to the Jamestown ferry and Williamsburg. Restaurant below had some excellent food and the bar drinks were tasty. Highly recommended & we will definitely stay here again.

Very clean accommodations only a ferry ride away from the hustle and bustle of Virginia’s triangle of history.
