My husband and I have just returned from an 8 night stay at Hotel Osmine and I honestly can say we had the best time. Both my husband and I found this hotel to be a real hidden gem! Whilst the location is in the middle of nowhere that’s exactly what we wanted for our trip away and the views from the hotel are breathtaking. The beds and pillows in the hotel were so comfy and the food was delicious, whilst there isn’t a huge selection of foods, they cater for everyone with fresh fish, meats, pasta dishes, vegetables and fruits.. We were rather anxious after reading the negative reviews but honestly can say that the negative reviews are slightly over the top! People were complaining about the drinks, but we found them to be fine. Infact they serve the most delicious pear, blueberry, cherry and honey liquor that I picked myself up a bottle of the pear one at the airport I loved it that much. My husband loved the beer they served on tap also. I’m not a beer drinker, but tried it as a shandy and it was lovely. The only advice I would give is if you wish to go in the sea on the private bay, make sure you take some wet shoes, or buy them from the hotel shop for 10€ the ground isn’t sand it’s more of stone and shingle and is very sharp to walk bare foot, (the waters are crystal clear) and we thoroughly enjoyed taking out the kayaks free of charge for one hour. The hotel also have their own selection of bikes you can use for one hour. If you follow the bay all the way around into Slano village there are a few local mini markets about a 10 minute bike ride away. We also stopped off at a little place called bite bay which sold the most delicious gelato. If you’re looking for a holiday where you have lots of plans this maybe isn’t for you as it is quite isolated and most of the excursions you can book often pick you up from Debrovnik. The hotel do have 3 seperate boat trips they put on, one for €40 each that takes you to Dubrovnik where you have 3 hours to explore, one sunset cruise in the evening and another where you can stop off at the various islands. We done the Dubrovnik boat tour, and whilst it took a long time on the boat to get there and back Dubrovnik itself was beautiful.. whilst you are there you can walk the walls for €35 each and take the cable cart up the top and enjoy the view for €27. All in all this was such a relaxing holiday. We would definitely come back here as it’s stunning!
