The hotel is situated on the busy A38 but is not affected by traffic noise. All the staff are polite and considerate and go the extra mile to provide good service The food is outstanding ; beautifully presented and prepared. And it tastes great too!
Good bar too which is imp because there’s little else to find a drink in the village.
Ideal for short or longer stays if you have a car. Taunton is clos for good shopping and the Somerset levels a dozen miles away.
I’d stay there again anytime.

Ik kom graag terug naar dit hotel omwille van de huiselijke sfeer, grote kamers met al het nodige confort, vriendelijk personeel en zeer goede keuken met typish Engelse gerechten.

Charmant typisch Engels hotel, verouderde inrichting maar netjes met alle voorzieningen, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, lekker eten, gratis parking

The room was very nice and it was clean however when we arrived it was really cold as the heating wasn't on. We reported this to lady at reception and she apologised and switched it on. It didn't warm up for a long time so we had to sit under blankets. We didn't eat in the restaurant as there didn't appear to be any vegan options. We did use the bar which was pleasant, cosy and WARM.

The hotel is clearly understaffed but comfortable.
Check in took an age as the receptionist was working the bar/restaurant.
Day 2 I had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, and then wait again for my order to be taken.
Despite leaving the card on the door for the room to be serviced, it was missed and the card put on the inside of my door.
Check out, and again no one around and had to call to get the receptionist from the restaurant to check me out.
The room was comfortable, and decent car parking, just needs an extra staff member or 2.

The Walnut Tree Hotel never disappoints.
We attended an Engagement party and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thanks to manager Sophie for all her help. 💖
Food was beautiful, service was excellent as always.
Some areas in our room were a bit worn like the carpet (stains) but it did not take away from a wonderful stay.

Good sized rooms with plenty of space. Good at coping with my dietary requirements and friendly staff.
I didn't like the lack of hair dryers.

I travel regularly for work and I have never stayed in a room so meticulously clean. Every corner was spotless. The suite was spacious and comfortable. Staff were exceedingly polite and the breakfast spot on.

This is our second stay at the Walnut Tree and will do so again.
This may not be the most modern hotel you can find but offers things that many hotels do not give.
Rooms are huge and comfortable.
Staff are wonderful.
Food is lovely.
Served breakfast.
Pub appeal.
Note that this hotel is not in Bridgewater but in a village close by.
Ideal for M5 connections with a wonderful historic Minster Church across the road.
