5-Starhotels in Sydney

"Ik heb lang getwijfeld voordat ik naar Sydney kwam, omdat ik lage verwachtingen had van Australische hotels, maar het bleek prima te zijn. Het personeel bij de receptie behandelde ons eerlijk en we stonden erop een contante aanbetaling te doen om vertragingen en gedoe met de terugbetaling te voorkomen. De faciliteiten waren gloednieuw, met een luxe lift. We boekten een tweepersoonskamer in de Opera House-kamer en kregen een kamer op de 21e verdieping met een prachtig uitzicht op de Harbour Bridge en het Sydney Opera House. De kamer was vrij ruim, met twee bedden van 1,51 meter, wat ruim voldoende was voor kinderen, en er waren zelfs slippers beschikbaar. Het bad was groot en vulde zich snel, waardoor het een geweldige manier was om te ontspannen na een lange reis. Wat de schoonmaak betreft: zelfs als je op de knop drukt, komt er niemand, tenzij je het beneden bij de receptie vraagt. Op een avond hebben we het zelfs aan het ********* personeel beneden verteld, maar er kwam nog steeds niemand. Het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid, met een ruime keuze aan westerse, Chinese, Japanse en Indiase gerechten, allemaal van hoge kwaliteit, inclusief gekonfijte eieren met congee. De Western Bakery was gemiddeld. Er zijn genoeg restaurants in de buurt en je kunt naar de foodstreet van Darling Harbour lopen. Het Thaise eten en buffet van het hotel zijn ook zeker de moeite waard."

"Having had the opportunity of staying at a few other four seasons around the world and the sydney branch felt abit lacking. Service was straightforward at best. Shower screen had gaps where water leaked to the floor during a shower but was informed it always has been."

"This was one of the best experiences we have had in Australia. We finally found a resort that values its customers and provides what you expect from a five star luxury hotel. Vivien from the front office was amazing, upgrading our room and making my birthday unforgettable. Thank you and keep up the fantastic work."

"The location is fantastic, located by the Darling Harbour, you can reach the Aquarium and Darling Harbour within 3-5 minutes. You can also access Sydney CBD (QVB etc.) easily. For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful. Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too. The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. And this was the only down side I can think of, other than that, I had a perfect stay!"

"My first review on Trip and I don't usually bother to write reviews - shows you how much the hotel impressed me. We stayed for 1 night in Capella Sydney as a family of 3. The hotel facilities were absolutely amazing, decor was gorgeous and food options at Aperture and Brasserie were awesome. However, I won't dwell on these too much as I'm sure when you booked into a Capella brand hotel, you will already assume this as a given right? One highlight in terms of facilities though, was The Living Room, which is assessible to all guests staying in the hotel. It had beverages, snacks, comfy sofas and 6 star service. We spent so much time there chilling with our son and in the end it really became ”our living room”. Enough of that, let me move on to the service which blew our minds. I'll give you a few examples and hopefully you can see why I feel it would be criminal for me not to write a review. 1. On arrival when we got out of our car and the porters were helping us with our luggage, somehow they addressed me by name. Maybe it's because they saw I had a 2 year old and I was the only guest checking in that day with a small child. Still, I was super impressed. I've only experienced this previously at Aman hotels. 2. Upon checking in, Sophie (I hope I got your name right!) was super helpful and cheerful. When she saw my young son, she also proactively asked if we needed a later check out and if our son needed to nap. She immediately offered to give us 2pm late check out. However, having told her our son actually takes his nap at 2pm, she told us to come back and check with the front desk the next day and they can extend it till 4pm. Remember, I didn't request this, she did this completely out of her own initiative. 3. We didn't book dinner and Sophie referred us to Madiha of the Cultural team. Madiha took note of all our requirements, including the need for the restaurant to be 2 year old friendly, and within 15 mins emailed me a full list of restaurants and their menus for me to choose from while she also served us drinks and snacks at the living room. We eventually picked an Italian restaurant and she made the reservation for us. Fyi, it was scrumptious. 4. After breakfast, we were walking around the lobby and my son walked past the cakeshop and saw a raspberry tart. He really wanted it but I told him we just had breakfast. Ton (?)(I hope I got your name right, the Thai gentleman with a love for cars), the manager came up and said ”you can have the tart for free! It's on the house!”. I was stunned. He also spent so much time talking to my son and showing him pictures of cars, unbelievable. Shout out also to Matthew (uncle Hao Jun) for being so warm and hospitable to us. Honestly we were feeling so sad leaving the hotel as everyone felt like friends and family to us. One thing is for sure though, we will be back. Absolutely flawless service, kudos to the Capella Sydney team!"

"Convenient and easy to check in. The hotel is located right next to tram station. The harbour view is slightly smaller than my expectation. Other than that, everything’s perfect."

"Hygiëne: Er zitten vlekken op de handdoeken. Ik weet niet of het sporen zijn die niet kunnen worden afgewassen of dat ze niet schoon worden gewassen. De locatie is zeer goed. Het ligt zeer dicht bij de pier, het treinstation, het Opera House en de Royal Botanic Gardens. Omgeving: De decoratiestijl van het hotel is erg mooi, in retrostijl, en de openbare ruimtes zijn allemaal prachtig De bar op het dak is op maandag gesloten. Dit lijkt niet vermeld te worden in de details. Ik heb het nachtzicht op het dak niet gezien. Ik heb dit hotel oorspronkelijk alleen geboekt voor het nachtzicht op het dak. De sportschool is zeer schoon en beschikt over complete faciliteiten Het zwembad is een beetje klein Voor alle faciliteiten is het swipen van de kamerkaart vereist en de privacy is redelijk goed Service: Zeer goed, beleefd en snel Faciliteiten: Het lijkt erop dat de kamers zijn gerenoveerd en zeer modern en zeer goed zijn."

"My child got some rash on his body after sleeping on bed. Breakfast was charged extra. The staff said would whatsapp me, but No follow up after reflecting breakfast extra charges. Better check bills before leaving."
