4-Starhotels in Sapporo

"Het is erg schoon en dicht bij het station. Als je er in de winter naartoe gaat, lijkt het me erg gemakkelijk om je door de ondergrondse gang te bewegen. Omdat het vlakbij de Hokkaido Universiteit ligt, zijn de cafés rustig en studeren er veel studenten. De supermarkt op de begane grond was ook groot en fijn. Ik kon op elk moment op tv kijken of er een grote badkamer en ontbijt beschikbaar waren. Ik was op reis met mijn moeder van in de zeventig en zocht een plek waar ik me kon bewegen zonder al te veel te hoeven lopen. De grote badkamer op de eerste verdieping was erg schoon. Het personeel bij de receptie was ook erg vriendelijk. Als je naar **Truck gaat, tegenover de hoofdstraat **Truck, is er een supermarkt genaamd Coop, dus ik heb wat snacks gekocht en opgegeten. Als ik nog eens naar Sapporo ga, ben ik van plan hier weer te verblijven."

"Polite and English speaking front desk staff. Spacious room comparing to other hotels in Japan. Renovation needed. Nice restaurants inside hotel, lunch offer in good value. Attentive waiting staff in restaurant."

"I booked this hotel last minute after cutting short my stay at another hotel in Otaru due to exposed cable wiring under the bed area. Having learnt from that experience, I checked this room carefully upon arrival and was relieved to find everything well maintained. Mitsui Garden did a great job with the room setup, and everything felt clean and safe. The room is spacious enough for three guests, with good walkway space, a hanging area, and a proper wardrobe. It feels more comfortable compared to other triple rooms I’ve stayed in. The bathroom is also a decent size and not as cramped as what you typically find in many Japanese hotels. The hotel offers a public bath for both men and women, which is a nice feature to relax in. However, the laundry setup could be improved. There is only one combo washer-dryer machine, and the waiting time is quite long. Even at 3–4 a.m., guests are queuing to use it, and each wash-and-dry cycle takes around two hours. You can monitor the washer status directly from your room TV, which is convenient, but it would be much better if the hotel could add a few more machines. It can be inconvenient when guests miss their pickup time and others have to wait. So, you really needs to plan and be more considerate in using the washer. Breakfast has a limited selection and leans more towards Western-style dishes, but there is a live chef station serving both sweet and savory crepes, which adds a nice touch to the morning experience."

"The staff services are not awful. After staying for three nights and checking out, the chunky lady refused to store my luggage. She asked for my passport right after I passed the main entrance and in the lounge area but not the front desk. I understand only a small portion of Japanese people understand English. I spoke slowly to her in English and told her I was speaking in English and surely she knows I'm speaking in English. However, she keeps using a Mandarin translation pocket device and didn't realise Cantonese language is different. I see English has been the lingua franca but that's not the lady's and her coworker's views. Try to avoid this hotel if you're a Hongkongese, *********, Mainland Chinese because more than one staff member is ******. They will just keep rolling their eyes and their facial expressions and fitgets are telling their guests only Japanese people are welcomed."

"Love this hotel! We stayed here for 2nd time and this time I would really like to thank front desk colleague Saito San for her hospitality specifically with her communication skills, speedy check in and customer focus skills in helping us to change our room when my daughter accidentally vomited near our room bathroom as she got sick before checked in in the cold weather. Not only she assisted cleaning (outside of her job responsibilities as housekeeping staff gone after 3pm), she handled this situation so well and made us feel so much better without being bad and embarrassed about the mess we made. This is the world class professionalism and respect toward her profession in Japan (esp in Sapporo) which my daughter and I have been very impressed. The room is spacious, beds are comfortable and their breakfast buffet is amazing! I give this hotel a 10 out of 10! Well done!!!"

"Ik woonde vroeger in de JR-wijk in Sapporo. Ik had het idee dat Tanukikoji een puur toeristisch gebied was en dat het niet zo handig was om je er te verplaatsen. De prijzen voor accommodatie in Sapporo zijn deze winter belachelijk gestegen. Gelukkig had ik dit hotel als reserve geboekt. Afgezien van de onhandige locatie overtrof alles mijn verwachtingen! Hun beddengoed is veruit het meest comfortabel! Heerlijk geslapen! Het eenpersoonsbed dat ik had geboekt, werd bij het inchecken toegewezen aan een kamer met twee eenpersoonsbedden. De kamer en badkamer waren ruim genoeg, en de badkamer was gescheiden in een droog en nat gedeelte, wat erg handig was! Zij zullen ook het initiatief nemen om de kamer schoon te maken. Een ander punt is dat Ichigen heel gemakkelijk te bereiken is. Als je graag in de buurt van Tanukikoji woont, dan raad ik je deze plek ten zeerste aan!"

"The hotel is within 10 minutes walk from Sapporo JR station and 3 minutes walk from Hokkaido University so the location is very convenient. The room size is generous and it has a public bath on the 2nd floor. Overall a comfortable stay and good value for money. It would be even better if the reception could understand a bit more English or Chinese."

"Location is right infront of the sapporo tower. We need to take the amenities and mineral water at the lobby. They let us store luggage for free before checkin. Thank u! Very close to odori train station entrance. There is an underground shopping entrance right infront of hotel, with a 7Eleven and pharmacy as the first shopsu see. Convenient. Next to the hotel is Daimaru which is great for ladies shopping"
