3-Starhotels in Oslo

The hotel is centrally located in Oslo, with many major attractions just a short walk away, which made exploring the city very convenient. The room was okay and comfortable enough for our stay. However, during winter it could feel quite cold since the heating system is centralized and not individually adjustable. That said, we truly loved the breakfast!! There was a great variety of food, and the free-flow coffee was definitely a highlight for us. It was so nice to be able to enjoy as many cups as we wanted, especially on cold winter.

De locatie was gunstig gelegen, dicht bij belangrijke bezienswaardigheden zoals het centraal station van Oslo en alle bezienswaardigheden in de Karl Johans Gate. Vanuit ons kamerraam konden we zowel het Operahuis van Oslo, het Munch Museum als de Oslofjord zien. Het is een korte wandeling naar vele goede restaurants, cafés en winkels, evenals een aantal buurtwinkels. De omgeving is prima te belopen, maar je moet wel oppassen voor oneffen trottoirs. Bus 30 stopt pal voor het hotel en veel musea die een bezoek buiten het stadscentrum waard zijn, liggen op deze route. De ”barception” combineert een bar met een receptie. Er is voldoende zitgelegenheid in de lobby, die 's ochtends ook dienstdoet als ontbijtruimte. De receptie heeft ook een kleine supermarkt waar je snacks, drankjes en broodjes kunt kopen, maar deze is iets duurder dan de nabijgelegen buurtwinkels en supermarkten. Het personeel van de receptie was gastvrij en vriendelijk tijdens ons verblijf en we bezochten de lift een paar keer en kregen snel informatie en hulp. We maakten ons aanvankelijk zorgen omdat er maar één lift werkte tijdens ons verblijf, maar dat was slechts een paar keer een probleem. We vonden onze kamer met de aanwezige meubels prima, maar zouden zeggen dat hij erg donker is. We kregen een hoekkamer met een werkplek, een bankje bij het raam, een stoel en een ruim bed. We waardeerden de verschillende kapstokken aan de muur om onze winterkleding aan op te hangen toen we er waren. Het hotel zet zich volledig in voor duurzaamheid en hoewel de verlichting in de gangen en gemeenschappelijke ruimtes perfect is, vonden we dat onze drie kleine lampjes en twee bedlampjes 's avonds, begin december, niet genoeg licht gaven. De tv was een grote flatscreen-tv, maar helaas waren de smart-functies uitgeschakeld en is het aantal beschikbare programma's in dit hotel wat beperkt. De voorzieningen in het hotel zijn voldoende, maar ik boekte in de veronderstelling dat er een wasserette aanwezig zou zijn, maar die is er niet. Ze raadden aan om naar een zusterhotel te gaan, op ongeveer 10-15 minuten lopen. Online was er een wasmachine en we hadden geluk dat we niet lang hoefden te wachten. Waterkokers en extra kussens zijn op aanvraag beschikbaar. Ons favoriete onderdeel van de badkamer was de vloerverwarming, waardoor de badkamer lekker knus was. De douche had aan beide kanten klapdeuren, waardoor er meer ruimte was wanneer de douche niet in gebruik was, maar die sloten het water niet perfect af tijdens het douchen. Gelukkig zorgde de vloerverwarming ervoor dat het water snel verdampte. De waterdruk in de douche was goed, maar het was in het begin lastig om de juiste temperatuur te krijgen. We waardeerden de ruime aanrechtruimte in de badkamer, wat het gebrek aan ventilatie compenseerde, dus gebruik het toilet verstandig. Het ontbijt was redelijk goed. Er was een ruime keuze aan warme en koude gerechten, waaronder gerookte zalm, pannenkoeken, chiazaadcups, overnight oats, roerei, spek, worst, kaas en een ruimte om je eigen yoghurtkom met toppings te maken. Er was ook een thee- en koffiehoek met tal van toevoegingen zoals zoetstoffen zonder suiker en honingroom. We vonden de fruitschalen lekker, maar tegen de tijd dat we er waren, waren ze grotendeels leeggegeten en waren het de minder aantrekkelijke restjes. We begonnen onze dag goed met een degelijk ontbijt. Comfort Hotel lijkt Oslo op dit gebied te hebben overgenomen en er zijn behoorlijk wat locaties. Wij kozen dit hotel omdat het centraal in onze route lag, de prijs redelijk was en de kamers redelijk ruim waren.

I stayed in the Junior Suite at Scandic Byporten and had an excellent experience. The location is perfect — directly connected to Oslo Central Station, which makes traveling around the city and to the airport incredibly convenient. The suite was spacious, modern, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the large windows with great city views and the cozy seating area, which made the room feel more like a small apartment than a hotel. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. The staff were professional, welcoming, and efficient. Breakfast was another highlight — a wide variety of fresh and tasty options, including local specialties. Overall, my stay was smooth and relaxing. The Junior Suite is definitely worth it if you want extra comfort and space in the heart of Oslo. Highly recommended!

Cozy room and amazing hot shower throughout the day. We reached the hotel early around 12noon and got early check-in as well. Breakfast was amazing. Front office staff was super friendly and helpful, welcomed us with warm smile and greetings (i forgot her name - long black hair). The surrounding area may seem dull BUT it was safely with many people walking about. 5min walking distance to pretty much anywhere (tram/metro/restaurants). There's a 7/11 just across the hotel for extra convenience.

I had an incredible experience at Scandic Go hotel in Oslo. When my Finnair flight to Dubai was canceled, the reception manager went above and beyond. She contacted Oslo airport, explained the situation, and spoke directly to Finnair. Because of her efforts, Finnair took responsibility and rebooked me on Emirates. Thanks to them, I was able to reach Dubai safely. I especially want to highlight the care and attentiveness of the reception manager. She was incredibly kind, professional, and quick to act. I could not have asked for better support, and I am truly grateful. 💜💜💜

Location is really good. In the middle of the shopping street and very close to the train station. Room is very clean and they provide small helpful items that you may need such as a water bottle. Bed is single size. I didn't know that the check in can be done via their website to get the access code. But I managed to sort it out soon. Really value for money in Oslo!

Great location. The breakfast buffet had a big variety of food and I really enjoyed it. The lounge was cozy and staff was really nice. However, the room is not worth the price I paid for. The room is small with the sink and mirror facing the bed. It is impractical to have the sink in the main room, and to have the mirror facing the bed, which has bad spritual meaning. Toothbrushes are not included, and there is no hair conditioner. There is also no air conditioning, but it is okay since Oslo is a cold city. There are several bugs in the corner of the room, and stains could be seen everywhere. The shower is insanely small, which is not friendly for people with bigger body types. There is also no physical lock in the door of the rooms. Overall, everything about the hotel is nice except the room.

We chose an apt because we like to do our own cooking  The stove hob didn't work and they fobbed us of with electronic responses and broken promises for our total stay of 3 days. On the last night they asked us if we would consider changing apts if one became available. What a joke the place was empty You could shoot a cannon and not hit anyone. If they did not have maintenance available they could have offered the change on the first Night . Lots of food wasted because we had no cook top. No front desk means that there is no one to complaint to. Their Automated electronic responses to service requests  provides appalling customer service. Emails and emergency phone calls don't generate responses either. A disappointing stay.

Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid, met Noorse zalm, diverse soorten brood en kaas! Ze liggen allemaal in het stadscentrum, maar er zijn minder kamers, geen stoelen en thermosflessen! De prijs is iets hoger, maar als het goedkoper was, zou het perfect zijn!

Apartment in great location - easy and picturesque walk or quick subway to central station and downtown area. Great little kitchenette to cook your own meals to save $ with supermarket nearby. Bathroom with washing machine, our washed clothes dried overnight hung up in bathroom because of floor heating. Easy & quick check in process even though no reception. There are staff on site - I got extra towels as soon as I asked. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Oslo.
