I had a wonderful stay at Pension Setsurin! The tatami room was an amazing and authentic experience, making my trip truly special. The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, even asking about food sensitivities to accommodate my breakfast, which I really appreciated. The breakfast is definitely worth trying—it’s rich, diverse, and full of traditional Japanese flavors. There’s even anime playing during breakfast, which adds a fun cultural touch to the experience. All toiletries were fully provided, so I didn’t need to bring anything extra. I stayed on the second floor, so just keep in mind you’ll need to carry your luggage upstairs. A special thank you to the host for going the extra mile—when I checked out, they even helped clear the snow off my car, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. I highly recommend Pension Setsurin for anyone looking for a warm and authentic stay!

Review van 3 nachten en 4 dagen Geschreven voor Koreanen. 1. Kamer Ten eerste is het geen guesthouse met meerdere bedden in één kamer, maar er is een gang en de slaapkamer is er direct aan verbonden. De meest eenvoudige kamer is een kamer waar je vanuit de gang de slaapkamer binnenkomt zonder een aparte privéruimte, en de kamer een verdieping hoger (Superior?) heeft een eigen bureau en meer ruimte, dus handig om het bureau te gebruiken of je bagage te ordenen. De indeling is hetzelfde als die van de basiskamer, maar het verschil is of er alleen een slaapkamer is wanneer je vanuit de gang binnenkomt of een slaapkamer + privéruimte en een bureau. 2. Faciliteiten Recreatiefaciliteiten - Je krijgt een welkomstdrankje en je kunt deze gebruiken om drankjes te nuttigen op de 7e verdieping. Ik ben daarheen gegaan en heb eten besteld, en het was erg goed georganiseerd. Er is ook een rustige rustruimte waar je strips kunt lezen en kunt werken. Er is ook een gacha-arcade. Douche - Je kunt gebruikmaken van de sauna op de 8e verdieping, waar zich de receptie bevindt. Ik heb deze geboekt omdat ik dacht dat er geen handdoeken waren, omdat ik snel wilde douchen zonder de sauna te gebruiken. Er zijn echter wel handdoeken in de sauna aanwezig, dus ik denk dat je daar wel naar kunt verwijzen. Er is maar één doucheruimte in capsulevorm op de 4e verdieping, dus ik raad aan om indien mogelijk de sauna te gebruiken. Het was jammer dat ik pas op de laatste dag over de rustruimte en saunafaciliteiten hoorde. 3. Service Ze waren erg vriendelijk en ik voelde me niet onvriendelijk tijdens de communicatie, en ik vond het personeel aardig. Teleurstellend punt - Het was een beetje onhandig om de kleedkamer terug te moeten brengen en een QR-code te moeten halen bij het verlaten. Dus ik ging met het gevoel dat ik alles mee moest nemen toen ik wegging en alles moest regelen bij het verlaten. Ook moest ik mijn schoenen op de 8e verdieping achterlaten en naar de accommodatie gaan. Afgezien van deze punten was alles goed.

Incredible value for money stay in the heart of Sapporo. I have never stayed in a capsule hotel before which made me hesitant to book this hotel, however I am so glad that I chose it. The location is unbeatable, in the very heart of Sapporo, in Susukino district. There is an endless amount of izakaya and restaurants on the doorstep of the hotel. The onsen and sauna was the best I have visited in Japan so far. I have heard the sauna is famous across Japan, and I can see why. It is kept impeccably clean and the entire facility is well maintained. The amenities such as unlimited towels, toothbrushes, razors and hair products are a great touch too. The capsule hotel itself was great, like the rest of the property, spotless clean and well kept. Despite being a capsule hotel, I heard no snoring for disturbance during the night. The breakfast was delicious and excellent value. Upon checkout, I requested to book again due to my great experience.

MAKE SURE YOU RECEIVE THE CODE TO THE LIFT BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. I stayed in a capsule in the dormitory on the 3rd floor of the hotel, where self check-in facilities are located. I believe there are family units or private rooms on other floors of the hotel. + Very good location. Less than 5 minutes walk from nearest subway. Subway journey about 5 minutes from central Odori Station. + Very comfortable beds and good quality linen and pillows. I slept very well during my two nights there. + Very good and clean communal facilities - high quality furniture, spacious bathrooms (a lot better than the price suggests). + Self check-in was easy (apart from the lift, see below). - I booked my accommodation through Trip.com. That meant I did not receive an email from the hotel with the code to activate the lift (or even know that I needed a code!). Thankfully, a lady put in the code for me to take me to the 3rd floor so I could check in, otherwise I would have been stuck with no access to the hotel. MAKE SURE YOU RECEIVE THE CODE TO THE LIFT BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. - There are no cooking utensils, plates, cups, cutlery or fridge in the kitchen on the 3rd floor where the dormitories are located. I would happily stay here again for the money, now I know the downsides I have written above so that I can plan accordingly.

Nice and cosy hostel in convenient location, not too far from Nijo market and Susukino. There were convenient stores and coin laundry nearby as well. Bed was snuggly and comfortable although it was a shared room. Having bar downstairs was both a benefit and drawback. It was convenient to get food & drink after a long day travelling and you don't want to leave for anywhere else, and their bar has great selection of drinks. However, the sound from the bar can be loud so earplugs is highly recommended to ensure a good night sleep. The bar area is also a smoking zone as well so even though the dorm is strictly non-smoking, the smell might still bother you if you're sensitive. Overall I think it's a not bad value for what you pay for, and great if you want a bit more lively hostel rather than quiet place.

This was rather far away from the Sapporo station, I think it took me about 10-15 minutes to walk over with my luggage and all. With it being a hostel, there's not much to expect, you pretty much get what you paid for. Towels, shampoo, soap, toothbrush / toothpaste were provided. I only wished that the other travellers would turn off the lights when it's bedtime. Otherwise, the stay was pretty good and I had no other issues.

con: no free amenities (i knew beforehand, i'm just pointing it out) pro: the nightly rate is very cheap, especially if you compare it to hostel/hotels in central sapporo during winter festival con: far from sapporo city center. it takes an hour more or less. also, be ready to add budget for bus rides (550 yen from hostel to sapporo station) pro: there are restaurants, ramen shops, supermarkets, 100 yen shop which are just 1 bus ride away (max 30 minutes) there is also a skii resort (fu's snow area) nearby. con: i just wish they install additional heaters in the common area. also, the hot water on the sink stopped running which was inconvenient pro: i had a comfortable stay. the other guests who stayed at this hostel were quiet. my roommates were japanese, korean and chinese and they were very nice. in conclusion, i chose this hostel because the price gap between hostels in sapporo city center and this hotel was huge. even with the additional bus fare, it was still much cheaper to stay here.

An amazing host and an outstanding stay! Highly recommended The host is incredibly easy to communicate with and always replies so promptly, which made our entire trip hassle-free. The place itself was sparkling clean, and all the amenities and essentials were fully provided and in great condition. What touched us the most was when a small issue came up during our check-out. The host went above and beyond to help us handle it quickly and smoothly. We are deeply grateful for the kind and prompt assistance! The host is truly a wonderful host who genuinely cares about his guests. We would definitely choose to stay here again next time!

The room is very new, the facilities are still in a good state, and it looks happy. Although I have to change the car to the station, the traffic situation is still convenient. The accommodation is close to the shopping supermarket and Dachuang. It’s just that the baking tray in the oven is black, and I bought baking paper myself. It feels a little hygienic. If the owner can attach tin foil to make people who use baking tray feel better.

The room is around 20 sqm, which is good for solo traveler, couple, or 3pax. The room is clean, with no mold or cockroaches, and fully furnished with a microwave, kettle, TV, air conditioner, cabinet, hair dryer, towels, and toiletries. Location: It’s 13-minute walk to Sapporo Station North Exit (near the East Gate for the JR Rapid Airport train), 10-minute walk to the bus stop for tour meet-ups, and a 15-minute walk to the Sapporo Beer Museum. Convenience stores: There is a Seicomart next to the building. 7-Eleven is about a 7-minute walk away. There is also a Satudora Sapporo drugstore main office about a 9-minute walk away. I think it’s much better to shop here than at Tanukikoji Shopping Street. Restaurants: I couldn’t find any restaurants very close by, but you can walk about 6 minutes to the Empire Hotel, where there are ramen restaurants and Starbucks. Overall, I’m satisfied with the self-check-in, check-out, and the condition of the room. The only small issue is that there aren’t many restaurants nearby, and the owner waited until the last minute to send me the check-in guide and password, which made me worried throughout the whole flight.
