Howard Johnson by Wyndham Spokane

Apparently they do not take cash for deposit. Which doesn't make sense. They already had my card on file from when I booked the room online... so why can't I pay for my deposit in cash?

Property wasn’t what was portrayed. Room was ok but was noisy and there wasn’t a plug for the bathtub to have a bath. They weren’t very organized at the front desk as well also wasn’t the breakfast I was expecting

Looked clean but their was a bad smell to the building…to include the office…lots of racing on main road…noisy through the night…the carpet was very old and dirty. The beds were comfortable…I just was never at ease with the cleanliness…on the surface appeared clean but the smell and carpet was bad.

No hot water in either the shower or the sink. Extremely loud heating system that woke me up every 15 minutes. It was cheap and there was good French roast coffee in the morning but Howard Johnsons is now at the end of the Z list.

There was people yelling in the parking lot all night cars starting and revving engines speeding out of parking lot sounding like a party in the rooms below maybe got 2 hours of sleep all night

At check in I had to get my husband‘s ID and I had never heard of that. The room was in my name I had my ID I had my credit card, but I had to go out to the car and wake him up to get his ID. I asked the agent why And we need to know what his name is I said what does that have to do with? I said I could have anybody come in with me. I never heard of this before. I will not stay there again! He seems so concerned on the number of guests in my room, and I said there was only two as when I registered.

Motel type. Looks better inside than out. Prices good for the area. Easy access. Area is in the Northside, close to Mead, WA.

I booked and paid for my room in advance, but when I arrived to check in I had to submit another deposit for the room. If I did not have enough money in my bank for this refundable deposit then my room would have been cancelled right then, even though I had already paid for my room. I do not remember seeing this anywhere in the booking information when I planned this trip. It was very unexpected and felt like a breach of contract since I didn't agree to this deposit at the time when I was purchasing the room. I did have barely enough money in my bank account, so it worked out this time. But I will be asking about this with any future bookings.
