We were in a unit right next to a construction zone. It was off season and there were other rooms in other buildings that we could have been put in, that would have bee nIce and thoughtful. Instead we looked out on a heap of junk and had to deal with construction noise.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the River Hotel! It was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view. We loved having the kitchenette available. And the balcony was great.

The hotel was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. We were in an end unit facing the river which was beautiful. We were a little disappointed with the layout of the room. It was not conducive to relaxing and looking out at the river. Not any fault to the staff it’s just the way the building, deck and windows are situated. It was cold when we were there. In the warm months the pool and river front deck with live music would be awesome.

Absolutely love the property. There is a beautiful overlook of the ocean. It is safe and quiet, very serene and peaceful. Wish they served breakfast, but I understand why they dont. There are so many breakfast options downtown southport to go to and even walk to! The staff was extremely friendly and sweet, especially the housekeeping! Would live ther if I could! I will definitely come back.

The check-in was great. The staff very friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely beautiful! Lots of channels on an adequate sized tv (Spectrum). Bed was very comfortable. BUT....
This hotel is under construction. I mean ALOT of construction. It looks like some of the workers are staying there too which is fine. They put us in a room that was right next to the construction. I don't think they thought about that. These guys start at 8am! They had these huge vehicles starting up and running.
Biggest gripe about the room was that every building has these really bright lights that stay on all night and since we were in the end unit we could not get a dark room. The blinds weren't enough to block it out. Then the shower in the morning ran out of hot water after a few minutes like my shower was being timed lol. Their idea of "river view" is any unit that faces the river no matter how far away it is from said river.

Room was recently renovated, good size, nicely furnished, beautiful kitchen area and bathroom. Everything was spotless. Comfy bed.
Friendly staff. Easy walk to restaurants.
Will come again!

The view of the Cape Fear River and the room was very clean and nice.
Parking Lot was not in good shape probably due to construction that was going on.

This place is a gem. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Full size refrigerator and kitchen with anything you would need to prepare your meals. All you need to bring is your food. Gorgeous views of the river. Highly recommend . We will return here for sure.
