Deadwood Gulch Resort, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

We had issue upon checkin. Window curtain fell when tried to open. Reported to front desk to fix. No one showed up to fix. We didn’t sleep due to bright lights coming into the room. We were tired next day morning and we had to drive 5plus hours to go to Sioux falls city. This issue was reported this morning and she added these notes in to room check out. You should obtain a copy of room check out. She won’t give me because it was booked by third party. Please let me know what resolution you can provide. She said she would discount the room but since this was booked by third party. She said I should contact you since you booked my room. In case you need to contact me personally, my phone no. Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was clean and modern with a great view of the gulch! I would happily stay here again!

A recharge get away for my hubby and I. First time staying at this property and we enjoyed ourselves. Pamela at the front desk was a delight and very helpful. Only one suggestion.. parking was a bit of an issue for those staying in the hotel and those just visiting

This was an event weekend which I expected some extra noise as patrons returned to the motel, but when the noise continued past 3 AM and there was no resolution, it became unacceptable. We left the motel in the morning and forfeited our 2nd night stay

The ****** and bar lady were excellent and very friendly. The hotel front desk was very indifferent relatied to booking through a third party which was *******. We are also Wyndham platinum members but they did not care as we booked through *******. The ac/heater unit was so loud that you could not use it. We asked for it to be fixed the first day and was still not able to have heat the entire 3 night stay. No closet in room. Clothes hung over desk with coffee maker. Bathroom freezing due to no heat!! Have stayed in the past with a good experience but not this time. Loved the bar lady!!

This was our 2nd stay at the Gulch. The 1st time, we stayed in the Presidential Suite. It was lovely. This time, we were in a standard room. It was old and dated. The man who checked us in said we had a nice view...the view was a construction site and the tops of maintenance buildings on the property, I think. The room was just ok, at best. I wouldn't stay in a standard room again. As for the hotel part, the staff is always nice. We were interested in the morning breakfast and I asked the bartender (this was at night) what time breakfast started. She said, "I don't know. I only work nights". We came down the next morning (a Sunday) just after 8am. There was no breakfast available, even though they have breakfast menus on the tables. Overall, I doubt we would stay here again. Its about a 20 minute walk to downtown, which happened to be a nice day, but sometimes waiting for the trolley and its long route takes even longer than that.

The staff were all polite and kind. I only have one complaint. Its winter in South Dakota, why is the thinnest sheet, thicker sheet, and sheet the winter bedding options? To be clear, this sucks.

They have done a lot of upgrades over the last couple of years. They are nice changes. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms.

We always try to stay at the Gulch when we come to Deadwood. The rooms are amazing. A quick trolley ride and your downtown.
