Fireside Lodge

Fantastic in every way! We stayed for one night with our newly adopted 10 year old dog. He loved it and so did we. Ben, one of the owners, who greeted us with his dog Kai was outstanding. They treat you like family. The property is an older motel, that I remember from when I was a child, that has been beautifully converted into an adorable, spotless B&B with all the modern conveniences. We stayed in The Moose Room which was great with two beds, one king and one queen, a fully stocked kitchenette with microwave, good size freezer/fridge and the bathroom was very nice, modern and spotless. The beds were very comfortable. They provide dog water & food bowls with a mat to put them on, a blanket for the bed, a towel to wipe paws if needed and dog treats! What more could Charlie ask for…oh, and he got lots of pets from the owners and fellow guests! The happy hour is lovely and it was fun to visit with our fellow delightful guests and Ben. They serve wine, cheese and crackers. There is also a full bar if you want a cocktail. The charge for the cocktails is reasonable. The breakfast is expansive with waffles with fresh berries and quite a few other toppings. A variety of breads, cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and beverages. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio seating area where they roast S’Mores from 7-9pm. They rent paddle boards and have bikes. They main doggie relief area is great and there is a second area off to the side. There is a game room with ping pong and another similar game, a bookshelf full of board games and books and DVD’s. They also have a lovely sun room with a spa. This is a VERY pet friendly B&B but even if I didn’t have a dog, I would still stay at Fireside Lodge whenever I visit Lake Tahoe.

The Fireside Lodge was such a cute place to stay. From the lovely themed room to the breakfast laid out as if you were in your grandmothers kitchen. The staff were amazing! Super friendly & loved the pup too! The complementary bikes were fun to ride down the trail that lies right behind the lodge -making it super continent. If you want to be about 10 mins from downtown S. Lake Tahoe avoiding too much hustle & bustle. This is the perfect location. Right by the entry way to the forrest, but close enough to restaurants etc. Hope to come back soon.

My husband and I were on a ten day road trip from Oklahoma to California and back. I found this wonderful motor lodge on the internet and it was one of the highlights of our road trip! The family owned lodge was clean, comfortable, and the family made us feel at home. Ben helped me find a room at their sister lodge on the first night of our South Lake Tahoe stay because they didn’t have any vacancies. We were able to spend the next two nights in their lovely accommodations. Breakfast was delicious, happy hour from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm enjoyable, but my favorite time was sitting by the fire pit from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm eating S’mores that they provide and roasting marshmallows while visiting with other guests. We met such interesting people who gave us ideas for hiking trails in the area. Ben is a fun, cool guy who reminds me of Chris Pratt! We hope to return and stay at Fireside Lodge in beautiful South Lake Tahoe!

Let me start by saying Ben is awesome! The Fireside Lodge is a true gem tucked next to a National Forest. While most hotels are taking away amenities, the Fireside Lodge creatively gives you all you could ask for and more; wine & cheese, breakfast, bikes, paddle boards and s'mores. We were actually leaving Lake Tahoe when our SUV broke down. Luckily they had a room for us during the week for our unexpected stay. We booked the room with Ben and it could not have been a more comforting place to stay after our grueling day. The next morning during breakfast we mentioned to Ben the details of our car issues. By the end of breakfast Ben was actually under the hood of our Range Rover tweaking our repair, filling our suspension with air and giving us the confidence we needed to make it safely home. He even offered to drive and pick us up if the SUV went down again! Talk about going above and beyond! We could not be more grateful for his help and assistance. Thank you Ben! The FL is a family owned business with a lot of heart and good people. We will definitely be back but next time without the car repair!

Fireside Lodge was the perfect place for us to stay to celebrate our 50th Anniversary! We booked the whole place. Each of our guests had their own cozy room & bath, they loved the breakfasts, wine & cheese & s'mores! But, most of all was the warm, helpful owners & staff. We highly recommend it!

We stayed at Fireside Lodge for the weekend. We absolutely loved it! They allowed dogs and cats. The cabin was very clean and beautiful. The hotel owners and employees were very kind, nice, friendly, professional and helpful. We will definitely come visit again.

The Fireside Lodge is 2nd to none in Lake Tahoe. The Carta family will welcome you with open arms. You will be treated like royalty. Breakfast every morning. Complimentary bikes to cycle 20 minutes to the lake. Each of the 10 charming rooms offer a different theme, with free dvd's (hundreds to choose from). Firepit, BBQ and outdoor relaxation areas are amazing. As well as the sauna and game room! Thanks Steve for helping us have a wonderful vacation!

We hosted our sons wedding rehearsal dinner here. It was fantastic. Steven and Traci made our event fantastic. I wish we would have booked to stay there for the weekend. We hosted 50 people for dinner and it was a lot of fun. They made sure we had plenty of room for family. Steve put out corn hole for us and at the end of the evening we roasted marshmallows around their amazing fireplace. We had family from newborn to 89s with walkers and everyone was comfortable. We rented a few rooms for family and regretted not renting more rooms for us.

The fireside lodge is a super cute and very friendly property. The rooms are laid out with outdoor entrances, motel style, with cars parked i front of each unit. The office building has a quaint kitchen area, game room, bar to make your own cocktails, and an outdoor fire pit. There is an afternoon happy hour with cheese and crackers, marshmallows and chocolate, and a generous breakfast included in the very reasonable rates. The innkeepers were super friendly and gave us a quick tour when we checked in. They also accommodated our early morning breakfast outside of our their regular hours. Our room was small but well divided with a queen bed, small bathroom and a kitchenette area with a small table, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, plates and silverware. There are several restaurants close by. The only reason we’re not giving this 5 stars is the mattress, which was way too soft and broken down. It made for an uncomfortable night of sleep, unfortunately. Besides the mattress problem (easily fixable with a newer one!), this place is a little gem and a great alternative to the mostly overpriced and uninspiring properties in South Lake.
