Dudhsagar Plantation

We very much enjoyed our farmstay. This is not a luxury vacation, but it was an amazing chance to really be in the thick of the natural environment and away from the chaotic cities. The natural pool is a dream, and we would highly recommend organizing a wildlife walk with Samir, which was one of our highlights in the entire trip to India. Overall, Ashok and his family were excellent hosts and we would recommend any and all staying here.

If you’re after a stay in a natural sanctuary, this is a great choice. The place is a genuine multi-generational family conservation effort and a real gem. The huts have all the basic comforts and are very clean. The food is good. The natural pool is a delight and Ganesh’s spice tour is so informative and enriching. Ashok was so great at coordinating our arrival and gave fantastic recommendations for stops on the way to and from the farm, as well as what to do in the environs during our stay. If you’re after fluffy pillows and full mattresses this is not for you, but if you’re after solid basic comforts in an oasis which is becoming increasingly rarer in our world - I would who***eartedly recommend.

We had a great time at the plantation. The host Ashok was very helpful and provided us with information on what to do around the plantation, even before our stay. Also when staying there, he was very attentive and gave us insight in how the plantation works, he took a lot of his time for that and talking to us and other guests, all in a very comfortable relaxed atmosphere. He also organized a guided tour for the guests in the surrounding area. The place itself is just beautiful, it is lovely to explore the plantation and enjoy the relaxing natural pool. It was a pity we could only stay for one night, as our planning to go there was quite spontaneous. It is worth to stay at least two nights to enjoy both the plantation itself and the activities around it.

Amazing, beautiful spice plantation in Mollem wildlife sanctuary with very reasonably priced rooms. Brilliant hosts who give you tours and recommendations of various things to do in the area and state of Goa. 3 delicious vegetarian, homegrown and cooked meals each day ***** with afternoon tea and drinks on request.

This is one of the best stays I have been to, so serene ,peaceful ,aesthetic and close to nature. Few highlights i wanted to share- -The resort is very well maintained, there are individual cottages amongst beautiful trees. -There is a nature pool in the resort which is having natural spring water and water purifying plants. - The resort is having water stream where you can enjoy fish spa and walk in it as well, it leads you to a breathtaking waterfall. -The food served is preferred from fresh vegetables from their farm. The drinks are amazing as well. We had jungle juice and their cashew fenni is amazing. Must try!! - Ashok & Ganesh are great, thanks to them we had lifetime experience.

We stayed for a night during our trip to Goa to see some nature during the monsoon. The plantation is incredibly relaxing. We enjoyed the nature trail around the plantation and also the spice tour to see the different plants around, and where the team make Feni. Our initial plan was to do a trek to the waterfall, but we underestimated the time needed (to both get there, then get a guide and do the trek) so we ended up abandoning the plan and just chilling out instead. I think if you were staying 2 nights it would be possible to fit it in. The pool is genuinely one of the most relaxing pools I've been in! Lots of dragonflies buzzing around and it was beautiful at sunset. No chlorine or salt, just water from the nearby river that is filtered with grasses and aerated. The water is then used to irrigate the crops which we thought was very cool. As a downside to this, we did avoid putting on any suncream or DEET when we got in to avoid contaminating it but ended up getting burnt, but that was our own fault for getting in at peak sun thinking maybe the clouds may give us some protection(!) The food was delicious and made from a lot of the plants and veggies they grow there. We had breakfast, lunch, chai and then dinner, which were all great. The chutney at breakfast was the best we'd had during out whole India trip. Our room was simple but comfortable. I was surprised how pleasant it with just a room fan (i.e. without AC). We took an insect repellant plug in, and we weren't bitten any more than we were when we stayed at other locations. The only downside is that we did have lots of ants in our bathroom that we attacked with the water hose that seemed to keep them at bay for a while. There are some friendly dogs and cows on the property as a heads up if anyone is frightened of either, but we had no issues with any of the animals. Ashok kindly arranged transfers via WhatsApp from Panjim (2500 rupees) and to Majorda (2000 rupees), which for the distance seems relatively decent for Goa where taxis seem very expensive in our experience compared to other areas of India! The other option is the GoaMiles app which is cheaper but you can't use it unless you have an Indian credit card... which we didn't have unfortunately as international travellers! Overall we had a lovely, although brief stay and we'd thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxed time in nature!

Beautiful, quiet nature place Very nice people.

We had a wonderful stay at the plantation. It was literally a breath of fresh air and tranquillity, a place to relax and regroup. What the passion of 2 generations of this remarkable family has achieved environmentally is astounding. We loved the chlorine free natural pool and the fabulous vegetarian food and cashew liquor. Hope to come again.

A walk in the wilderness with so ***y beetlenut/coconut trees, patches of herbs and spices. Wading through the stream is a delightful experience. The natural pool was refreshing and the dogs a real treat. The food service could be better though!
