An imposing historical setting recently and magnificently restructured into a very special hotel. The view to the surrounding village and hills gives a true sense of what it was to be a feudal lord. The excellent arrangements, the courteous staff and the modern fittings bring you back to a comfortable reality. Full marks to the restaurant as well!

We spent one night here on our way from Cortona to Rome. They sent instructions ahead of time to find parking, and there’s even a quick video on their website. We had to wait about 30 minutes past the check-in time for our room, but we’re able to leave our luggage and walk down into town. The room was simple but comfortable and ours had a gorgeous view out over the town. Nice breakfast included in the cost with option for some add-ons. Just know that this is at the TOP of the town and when you walk down to site-see or eat, you have to walk back up, on cobblestoned streets, so just be aware, it may be difficult for some. We loved it.

Hotel Della Fortezza was our favorite place we stayed for our week in Italy! Cristiano and Silvia were attentive and amazing. Breakfast was delicious and had many options including a lot of vegetarian options. The cappuccino there was one of the best and the fruit juices were delicious. We ate at the restaurant one night. The food was very good and much better than other area restaurants. There were quite a few vegetarian options there as well. It is a great place to stay for day trips to Pitigliano, Cascate del Mulino, and Civita di Bagnoregio. There are many shops in Sorano where the fortress is located. The a**osphere is wonderful and can’t be beat!

Great location, beautiful surrounding a**osphere, great staff and manager. Food was good and great value for money . Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future. Thank you

such a fun idea to stay in a castle and they don't disappoint. Cave tours and wine cellar tastings, extra activities. Beds comfy, food in restaurant was great and staff kind and helpful.car parking easy and just stroll across bridge to this exciting accomodation.

This was a bucket list item - stay in a castle!! it was a real treat, the room was very clean, bed comfortable, great shower. Easy and free parking was a bonus, and so easy to walk around Sorano. The dinner was exceptional, definitely eat in their restaurant at least once. We would definitely stay here again.

This property itself was truly amazing! To top that off, the staff and continental breakfast were truly wonderful! Everything about our stay here was just beautiful!

Top place. Great character, charming staff, stunning location, a complete gem. In the middle of lovely walking countryside with Etruscan via cave (sunken paths), beautiful hill towns, all quite out of the way. It doesn’t have much in the way of public rooms but since you can sit out in a mediaeval courtyard who cares?

Loved the rooms, the rugs, the comfortable beds and beautiful views. The woman serving coffee in the breakfast area seemed stressed and a bit grumpy but the breakfast was delicious!
