Sol Falco

We had a weeks stay at Sol Falco,initial impressions of the Hotel seemed good however there were a few issues, This place doesn't cater for Vegetarians,there were no options for a hot meal without meat or fish,my Husband who does eat meat said the meat was undercooked,food wasn't warm either,I spent the whole week having salad because there was no alternative for me. Our room was ok however there was toothpaste of the bathroom wall from the previous guests,the toothpaste stayed there the whole time we were there,our towels were changed daily and beds made but the bedding wasn't changed for cleaning all week,other than that I don't think anything got cleaned,the floor was dusty and the shower wasn't cleaned,apart from the sink which seemed to have been wiped,We were woken every night by the boiler which was right next to our room (not what you want when you're on holiday trying to relax) This place needs another bar,it can't possibly cater for the number of guests,the bar staff didn't have alot of knowledge regarding Cocktails,but if you tell them how to make them they'll do it,the bar staff were quite friendly,especially Pepe,Manu,Angel (or maybe Angelo) and an older guy who we didn't get his name always up for a laugh,asked everyone if they want Whiskey. We didn't let these issues spoil our holiday and we still enjoyed ourselves but unfortunately wouldn't return again.

What a week away! We all had the best time at Sol Falco, the staff didn't stop, entertainers were playing with the kids or practicing for the night time entertainment. The bar staff got queues down quickly and were super friendly. Staff in the restaurant didn't stop milling around tables, cleaning and taking empty plates. The whole place was just amazing. Ignore the bad reviews, yes the pools are deep, my children are not confident swimmers but get them a ring, couple of euros at the shop, couldn't get my two out! Loved every second of our stay and we were all very upset to leave!

In all honesty it was very underwhelming to say the least. It was our first holiday as a family and it was rather disappointing. The food choices were very limited but the main issue was that it was either not hot or not cold. For example bacon was luke warm at best and the yoghurt was room temperature. It was very similar food every day. The high chairs for babies were filthy across the board. So much so we had to sit out 2 year old in an adult chair for the entirety of the holiday. General cleanliness we felt was extremely poor. Rooms were dirty. Showers leaked. Baby changing facilities were always dirty. The toilet by the swimming pool was out of hand towels for 3 days or more which suggests it also hadn't been cleaned. The toddler pool always had rubbish in it which we had to scoop out. The splash pool was good however the only 3 slides all went into the big pool which was 1.90m deep. So we had the choice of a 30cm pool for our child...or 2 metres. The air conditioning was not working. When I enquired they said that it doesn't get turned on until after June. If I was aware of this I would most definitely have not booked this holiday. 1 day our room hadn't been cleaned. When I asked at 3.15pm when it would be cleaned they said the cleaners left at 3pm so it probably wouldn't. It did finally get cleaned but the lady on reception who I spoke to was just down right rude. On the whole the staff were really good. The kids staff were absolutely brilliant, especially Ernestas. Given we had a 2 year old who's bed time is usually around 8pm it was great to know our room was effectively across from the entertainment room and next to the kids play area...so the earliest either us or our child got to sleep was after midnight due to the extremely loud entertainment and shouting and screaming children.

More of a 2/3 🌟 hotel, rooms ok, cleaned badley, with sheets and towels only changed once, beds need replacing springs popping out on matresses. Baby cots filthy!! One bar in whole place with only 1, sometimes 2 people serving, so continously ques for drinks, food was basic, barly warm, 2 days out of 10 we had different selection. 2nd day power cut across hotel, so no warm drinks with breakfast, 4th day no water across hotel, so no showers working, fixed in few hours. NOT ideal for baby's under 2!!! Had to pay 30 euro to have kettle in room! Entertainment is OK for 4-10 years olds early part of evening, but entertainment for 9pm onwards are singers, songs so old not heard of most!!, one night was acrobatics which was good but the other 9 evenings we were going back to room by 9.30 out of boardum and deathening tones coming for entertainment.

Not one for reviews as I am of the opinion you need to know the individual who is writing the review in order to have a balanced opinion. However, I feel compelled to to write a review in support of the hotel due to some previous reviews read before we stayed for a week. I could genuinely find fault with any place, as I am of an age where the slightest thing can send me over the edge!!! I needn’t of worried with Sol Falco, it was brilliant from start to finish. The room is clean, house keeping happens every day, which is a blessing as the wife is old school untidy, yes the rooms are basic, however, I don’t understand what people want from a room where you will predominantly spend the time simply sleeping in it, shower was great and the the shower gels and hair products a nice touch, balcony was great too. The comments regarding the food are outrageous. I happily would be called a ‘food snob’, I like my food!! I found the comments regarding the food being disgusting are outlandish - every food group is catered for, the grill section is brilliant and the salad section outstanding with various accompanying sauces to compliment. Coming with a 3 year old, the pizza and pasta section served us well, he was genuinely disappointed when the ‘curry’ wasn’t on offer every night but enjoyed the chinese and Mexican themed evenings, not to mention the endless supply of ice cream and deserts, again superb. The drinks are great, from someone who likes a wine, I couldn’t fault it, the barmen will serve with good humour and are faultlessly polite. The comments regarding the entertainment seem to be written by those who if ‘Oasis’ reformed or ‘Coldplay’ played an impromptu gig in their back garden, they’d as then to keep the noise down and close the curtains!! Some brilliant acts to watch. The pool is deep, yes I am 6ft 4, but before I jump into a pool I would check the size of it or even if it would be suitable for my children, there are numerous lifeguards on support if your child does get into trouble whilst you lay on the plentiful sun-loungers, there is a lovely ‘salt pool’ that is smaller in depth but a greater distance from the bar. Only negative was the inquisitive question as to why ‘ that person has no clothes on daddy’ whilst visiting the close by beach, just be prepared to answer said question if you do go. I am someone who ‘likes what he likes’, but we have genuinely found a place that I would happily return to in a heartbeat, the hotel and food I are excellent, staff are superb, and the resort and situation was outstanding. Overall good stay, the hotel itself is clean and rooms are nice with good bathroom facilities, staff all round the hotel were lovely and helpful. We had to move rooms due to ants and it was no trouble with reception. Our son loved kids club and the entertainment staff were lovely..Pool area lovely and clean and no trouble getting sunbeds anytime of day. Beware of big pools both over 6ft we seen 3 kids have to be rescued by life guard on our last day as they came off slides. Food was a let down for us although there is selection it's all random foods we ate out 5 nights out of 7. Plenty of restaurants in Marina and down by beach though. Overall hotel is great for families just be open of food options

Just arrived back from the sol falco on a 4 day holiday hotel very clean well maintained food was very nice all the staff very friendly the rooms were also nice can’t fault this place would recommend there is also a supermarket two minutes out of hotel

Nice location but apart from few supermarkets (which all are selling the same stuff) there is not much going on for kids. Park is very poor (2 swings and one slide between all the kids in this huge hotel). Cleanliness is questionable- not once have I seen the staff jet wash the sun loungers and the pool area after people have been sweating on it all day.... rubbish from the day before still present in the pool side area and bird poop all over the loungers. Rooms are very average but beds are very uncomfortable and sliding all over the floor at night as they are on wheels !!! Food - way below average.... the allergen signs displayed above the dishes are not up to date and some list allergens as present but then the chef confirms otherwise and says the list is wrong and not up to date on some dishes. Very confusing and dangerous but also limiting because unless you ask the chef himself , you won't know what's safe to eat if you're allergic and end up eating plain pasta and fruit all week. I found that with my soy allergy I was literally very limited as there are only few choices and no soy free deserts at all! There was no dairy alternatives either. All in all very limited food compared to other hotels we have been to on holiday. Also the staff are literally pouncing on your tables to grab the plates and glasses and the put their hands all over it before asking if you're finished. We found it rude and unpleasant to deal with every meal time. For the cost of this holiday we were expecting much more. But also I believe the hotel has advertised their pool area in a very misleading way. The lovely slides you see in photos which are meant for kids are absolutely useless for kids who can't swim or are younger than 10 ! All slides lead into a 2 meter deep water!!! Why ?? All pools are absolutely way too deep, and completely not suitable for families with small kids. Little splash pool area for toddlers is ok but not above average. We definitely won't be returning.

As I'm writing this I am still here....upon arriving my First impressions was what a nice looking hotel it was....reception were very helpful and polite which to me is a good sign. Pleasantly surprised to find WiFi and air conditioning are free. Our room was nice and we have a lovely balcony view of the pool's, sunbeds are plentiful so no rush to get one . Staff are great and so happy ,and the kids are kept entertained . Rooms are cleaned every day. The food in my opinion is very good and each day there's a good choice .I really can't understand why there is bad reviews ...I would say take no notice of them, this is a lovely hotel and will definitely be returning! Sol falco you should be proud of your staff and your hotel !
