Hotel Salona Palace

Best bits: small boutique hotel - only 47 rooms set in well manicured gardens; friendly staff throughout the hotel; fantastic pool/jacuzzi/spa and comfortable loungers; excellent breakfast and snack menu for lunch and good evening a la carte menu; small supermarket/bakery /pharmacy opposite; located 20 minutes outside Split but easy access by local bus (stop outside hotel €2.50/person) or Uber €8 (cheaper than taxi); beside one of the main archaeological sites. Bad bits: none really but more clothes hangers in wardrobes would help!!

酒店距離斯普利特老城還是有點距離的，不過對於自駕的人來説還算方便，這個酒店可以遙望斯普利特，停車場很大，酒店早餐很一般，但是住宿來説酒店各方面還是符合四星的基本標準吧

Amazing stuff made the stay in Solin really pleasant. Will definitely come back next year. Restaurant at the pool has amazing food. Soups, sea food gnocchi, sea bass everything was delicious. Room looking at the garden was great as well. Thank you!

Beautiful hotel with many conveniences from home. Stayed one night to be closer to airport. The front desk person was friendly, polite and helpful. We were not able to enjoy the breakfast so they had a bagged lunch ready for us for early morning very healthy and filling.

We spent 10 days here for our summer holiday. The pros are it is a lovely hotel, with (mostly) very friendly staff. The food was good too. The cons are that there is nothing nearby except the Roman ruins, which are definitely worth a visit. If you don’t have a car you have three choices; the bus (2.50 Euros to Split), a taxi (20 Euros), or an Uber (10 Euros). We used Uber to get around. We walked down to Solin centre and found a bar next to the river which runs through the town. That was a 25 minute walk. The beers were half the price of the hotel prices. There is a small supermarket opposite the hotel for water, snacks etc. We found that the hotel is geared for weddings, corporate events, coach parties staying overnight for one night (meeting or leaving a cruise ship I assume) and holiday makers came last. At the restaurant we sat outside every night. We had no choice for most nights as the coach parties took up the whole of the inside. Even when there were thunderstorms and heavy rain we had to sit at the dry tables in the middle of the covered area, with our coats on to keep warm, (the tables at the edge were very wet!) as indoors was full with a coach party. It seemed odd that customers staying there for many days came second place to people only staying overnight. We were half board and had a restricted menu for the first 4 days and then were allowed the full a la carte menu after that, although we were not allowed the most expensive items on that menu. The food was always good but got a bit boring after 10 days. The starters were either soup or Greek salad. That was it. Within the hotel if you don’t want to sit in your room then the only place inside is in the lobby. This would have been better if the lobby bar was open, but it was closed when we were there. If you wanted a drink you had to go down 3 floors to the restaurant to get them. We spent an afternoon in the lobby when it was raining and had some sweets/candy to eat. The receptionist noticed this and then rang the restaurant staff who came up 3 floors and told us that we couldn’t eat our own food in the lobby! She was 3 meters from us. Very bizarre. Also requesting a coffee after 20.30 was not possible as they clean the coffee machines at this time. The website clearly advertised they provide poolside parasols for their sun beds. This was not the case. On requesting a parasol, the staff replied that they don’t have any and it was probably an error on the website and she would get it updated. There are signs asking guests not to move the sunbeds or chairs, so if you want to lie in the shade, there was no option. The hot tub was out of order while we were there. Despite all the above, if you want a nice quiet hotel out of Split, then this is one to consider thanks to the hotel itself and the staff.

Upgraded to a superior room on the 1st floor directly overlooking the pool. bath tub. The room was very spacious with a lounge area and a bath tub in the room. All good except for the towels which were very rough and worn out at the seams. They gave us a sumptuous packed breakfast. Just a feedback- the sandwiches were good but dry. Overall a good experience

Absolutely beautiful property! So peaceful and rooms were spacious and clean. Has amazing facilities including two pools, two spas, stream room and sauna. Bonus having massages available up until 9pm. So easy and cheap to get an Uber into split and it’s nice being able to explore Solin as well

We were very disappointed with our stay. The hotel is beautiful and modern, but unfortunately the staff is extremely unfriendly, especially in the wellness area, the breakfast was very poor and didn’t taste good, it seems like the pictures in the internet are fake and everything is dirty and not taken care of, so we cannot recommend the hotel. The location is fine if you have a car, there are free parking spots.
