Beds were comfortable for a good nights sleep, little to no noise during evening and no disturbance overnight, despite being in a ground floor room. I would highly recommend this Travelodge."

"I only booked for one night to break our journey to North Wales from London, so my expectations were not that high, I just wanted a bed for the night. The location was within walking distance from Shrewsbury station, down a small alley off the main shopping street. I didn't realise it would get quite noisy, and there was actually a band playing in the pub the night of our stay - our room was directly above it! So we went to bed late! For some this could've been a disaster, but saw the funny side and at least the band were playing songs I liked, and I travelled with ear plugs so did manage to get to sleep. The room was well equipped, comfortable & clean besides this. I had booked breakfast but due to not realising what time it would start from and having to be on an early train, actually couldn't stay for it. To compensate the lady who checked us in kindly offered to make us lunch instead, so we had some sandwiches, nuts, crisps and snacks from the bar to take with us, which I appreciated, as I was travelling with my young son."

"My husband and myself were gifted an overnight stay with dinner from our son + daughter in law ( they married at this stunning venue/ hotel last year) we have returned to a couple of events with family since , we initially spoke to Angela who was absolutely wonderful + very approachable who couldn't of done more for us , nothing is too much trouble .On our arrival we were warmly greeted by Nadine , we enjoyed a lovely carol service performed by the male voice choir and spent the afternoon in front of the lovely log fire , before retiring to our stunning suite to relax and get ready for dinner which was delicious ! The staff are all fabulous , a few names we would like to mention are Lydia who served us dinner , such a lovely sociable young lady who was so good at her job , also a special mention Dominica who was our breakfast waitress , we couldn't of wished for a warmer welcome , (nothing was too much trouble ) finally special recognition to Lucy , so friendly + helpful and wonderful at her job , she genuinely is made for the role of which she carries out so well ! So finally , if you are contemplating making a reservation do not hesitate ! The hall and grounds are stunning , the service from the staff is first class , I'm sure my husband and myself will return again , so a huge thankyou to Angela + the whole team Kind regards Karen + Alec Newman"

"I had the pleasure of staying at Brownhill House for 5 nights in October 2024. The location is rural and picturesque, with a large, interesting garden to explore down the slope to the river, which is part of the National Garden Scheme. Roger and Yoland made me feel very welcome and offered truly old-fashioned first-class hospitality in their lovely home. The single room was spacious with a large bathroom, everything was clean, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I was even given a tasty muffin to have at the end of breakfast or to take with me every day! They also went the extra mile with recommendations for local eateries and driving routes to try and avoid the flooding at the time. I would highly recommend Brownhill House to anyone, and next time I am back in the area, it will be the first place I contact."

"From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, Louise was so helpful pointing out local attractions and places to eat and drink. The room was very comfortable and well equipped, excellent breakfast, with plenty of choice. Lots of extra touches, cold bottles of water in dining room fridge for us to help ourselves to, homemade cakes also. Beautifully kept garden, tended to by Peter, excellent location with only a short walk into town. Overall, a great stay from start to finish! Undoubtedly one of the best guest houses we have stayed in."
